my guy you are funny, there is no way you do Hse3 without going for General hse Ghse,or hse1 and 2 is like jumping from nusery one to ss2...it a must

I know what I mean, these other bodies don't offer GHSE just HSE 2 and 3, and GHSE is more expensive than HSE 2and 3

Nice thread. Nigeria and the entire world owe their energy needs to us. Bright career prospects here in Nigeria and the Niger Delta rgion not limiting to Ph alone. So lets get started.

imag5: for now will use Petrel and kindgom suite after we have gotten our pre stack and post stack data, but the major aim of this project is to what we called SS satelite seismic to visualise reservoir to get a clear a image of reservoir at every depth , but we have guys currently in china developing our softwares called Satwares

This is like combining Petrel, Prosper and Eclipse into one software if am right wink wink wink wink
Can't wait bro. imag5 will appreciate meeting with you in person sometime soon. Am in Ph as a project engineer, grad Geo/Mining Esut

conyema12: Hi guys am so happy to meet my fellow. Geologist
Actually I have bee looking for a forum like this.
I am a geologist with strong competence in reservoir modelling and petrophysicis. This is because I did my Msc in that area as well as my 12 months internship in shell , but after the internship I got another job as a field engr majoring in coil tubing services which is an aspect of well intervention. Pls guys dnt get me wrong, I love the experience as I often go to the rigs offshore to render some services, I also acquired International Well Control Certifications as well as Basic offshore certification. I have put in 18 months with them.
However I just got admision in USA for a masters program in petroleum geosciences I will be majoring in petrophysics. ( Which where I have passion for)
My question is, am I on the right track since my background is in geosciences? Do I have future in this Present job since I didn't study engineering,
plz I am in need of advice cos am confused.

Over right tract na im you dey my brother, thought we Geologists don't get lost
wey that my brunton compass sef cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Its not like that. Petrel provides you the platform to build a static representation of ur reservoir using products from ur seismic interpretation. And population of petrophzsical properties at inter well locations. While eclipse will build a dynamic model from petrels product to define the various flow units. This will help in positioning wells for in fill drilling.

The last time I checked my brunton compass it was dipping towards petrophysics.

Bro, may God bless you for the info you are dishing out. Honestly, you are a compass people have been searching for. I strongly believe in self-development but how do you develop when you can't find your bearing considering that some of these things aren't taught in schools?

At least if job hasn't arrived and with your info given here, one can possibly go on to add more skills to his arsenals and thereby making a marketable product of himself to prospective companies searching for employers.

God bless you.

Hi guys... nice thread
But have got the question bothering me.
Can an archaeologist work in an oil and gas company ??
Re: Geophysicists, Geologists, & Petroleum Engineers: Professionals & Aspirants by Nobody: 8:56am On Oct 21, 2013
Cut it out, guys! I forsee an intense irrelevant argument gradually snowballing which characterises the Nigerian being.

Please, let's get back on track. cool
Re: Geophysicists, Geologists, & Petroleum Engineers: Professionals & Aspirants by Nobody: 9:00am On Oct 21, 2013
Except you wanna do career switch by obtaining relevant certifications.

You can become a Safety Officer and work in an oil industry or any other industry for that matter.

Archeologist are known for un-earthing historical facts; that has no bearing with the oil and gas industry.

Just find a way to switch. Imag5 should have a better way to do that.
