tough ques anyway it a requirement for those with geology, geophysics background to move to msc in PE,it a make up for the Pe syllabus you did not cover while in sciences.

@ donasere, it depends on the school that u attended. I attended FUTO and I did three attachments, from 2nd year( 3 months), 3rd year (3 months) to 4th year (6 months), and it was compulsory!

oh owkies...if its pet eng. or any engineering course at all, you gotta do SWEP which keeps you in school when you conclude 200L, den you do another one at d end of ur 300L which is an attachment and usually is a minimum of 4weeks den the main IT which is 6months or a minimum of 4months. Datz if u attended schools like OAU, ATBU and d likes doe...dont really know much bout dem FUT schools.

imag5: windows or 8 should beore than 2gb hard disk

what about processor and bit? Cos some processors can't even handle auto cad 2015. For instance, this specification--processors Dual core (AMD); Window 8; bit 32-- can't even run the above software not to talk of high end graphic softwares.

I think you need a 64 bit system, and like imag5 said u need a system running on atleast 2G ram...most preferably u need a system runing on 4G RAM and above...esp. for opendtect and petrel

If you are in PH you could try the oil servicing companies
dunno if any multinational will give you a placement so fast Considering your time frame. You could also try DPR I hear they promote the student attachment process!!! Goodluck.

BTW....for those who wanna do IT in any multinational it is advisable to send your letter of introduction at least 6months before the actual date of commencement

4gb ram.

64 bit. Though some softwares will run on a 32 bit depending on their specs.

At least 320gb HDD. not that it matters to the software but we just need more space these days.

A dual core should be ok. but if you can cop an i3, i5 or i7 then much better. I'm not really a fan of AMD's.

What's your budget?

I doubt its free but check Eldemuz around CFC. You can Google them up for their address. They teach Petrel and the rest and will install for you if you're learning with them. If not, they could charge for only installation. Downloading those softwares is not that easy. A Pav dm4 is ok if you're cool with the screen size.

You can also hope to meet a kind brother here on this thread.

All the best.

I'm using Auto Cad versions to judge. All types and versions of auto softwares can't run on processor less than i5. So I'm considering HP ENVY 15t Laptop(i7). But it comes with Blu-ray player which is a new hardware that don't support DVD. What do you think?
