segzytemi: No fewer than 40 persons sustained various degree of injury on Friday during a bloody clash between rival factions of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun state.
The fracas, occurred around 4pm at the state Secretariat of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) , one of the legacy parties that fused into APC at Leme along Abiola, Abeokuta.
The party’s Secretariat which has been repainted in APC colour was damaged while some cars parked in the front were not spared as members of the factions used guns, cutlasses, broken bottles as well as other dangerous weapons freely during the clash.

Thuggery and brigandage are not new vices in yoruba politics. Their kind of politics is a do or die. What we saw playing out in abeokuta is a reminiscent of what happened in th old western region and the mindless violence which was introduced into nigeria politics was blamed on the door step of the federal govt. Now, dat history has repeated itself. Is federal govt now the motivator of the free for fight in apc secretariats. The point is democracy or republicanism is not natural to the yoruba enclave. That is why there were high rate of political assasination of high profile politicians especially williams, dipo dina, bola ige and other and incidence of declaration of state of emergency. Absolute monarchy will have been the best political system for the yoruba becos they believe in a unified system of government which is anthi thesis to democracy. Apc is a conglomerate of social miscreant. Dat is why area boys are licensed by the state governor in lagos to extort money from all commercial motor driver in every bustop dat were built and maintained by tax payer money in the presence of the polics and public glare in the state. That is what you will get wen apc take government at the center. They will legalise social miscreant and institutionise Godfatherism in the system. They will give you a political system sustained by corruption, violence and brigandage . They will give you an economy dat will be too risk for enterpreneurship and investment becos of instability. This culture of hero worshipping perceived leader must stop and the culture of promoting area boy must be abolished . Area boys syndrome is not only a retrogressive but obsolete culture. The situation where rented crowd besiege airport to welcome tinubu is madness and retrogressive culture. Have we ever asked where tinubu get the money to buy a private jet wen buhari owned on building or jet of his own despite being a former military head of state. Buhari want to win election at all cost even if it takes him to associated with public treasury looters.
