I am not sure your agent is %100 correct, If you had a grade less than 2.1; then Masters degree can't prevent you from doing a Canadian PGD. People with 2.1 and above also do PGD or PGC in other fields different from their primary field of study, just to get entry into that speciality.

okay. my grade isn't less than a 2:1. are u saying that it might be okay to actually apply for the visa?

My advice is to include your masters degree. What Pgd course r you doing? I moved to Canada abt 6 years ago after I concluded my masters in SW in the UK then came to George Brown College to do a Pgd in Autism and behavioural Sc....
There must be a direct link to your masters course if you want to do a Pgd. I explained in my personal statement why I wanted to do a course in Autism which will certainly enhance my profession as a Social worker. I got my Student visa in d Uk and have since gotten my PR.
Besides your UK student Visa will show on ur passport.
Just make sure your reasons are solid and you shouldn't have a problem.

Good luck
the pgd program i am going for is Corporate Communications and Public Relations, i have a masters degree in international relations and the same with my undergraduate degree. the agent actually explained that this new trend jst started recently and that it has not really been an issue since. they just noticed that most persons that they applied for that got rejected had master degree in another country but were going for a lesser degree. anyways do u think that there is strong tie for me to able to apply for visa.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by sexysammy0906: 8:27am On Jul 05, 2014
tunamost: bro I thought they said canada don't offer pgd except masters....plz how did u go abt it,d name of d school dat gave u d admission and is d expenses not as much as masters program?plz I need dis info cuz am also interested in pgd in biochemistry...fanx a lot...I await ur response.

they do. and i dont think it is as expensive as a masters degree. u jst need to research it online. i actually used an agent and they jst gave me a list of schools with pgd programs. i applied to centennial college.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by sexysammy0906: 8:33am On Jul 05, 2014
jtbaba1: Boss for real ooo..they will refuse..I don't have a masters or no any one that has and be refused. But the admission officer for centennial college told me that categorically. She said all people that has applied for a lower program has been denied from her experience. . Because I was trying to apply for a technical program also and I have a degree. So boss don't risk it

A second masters wouldn't be a bad idea..
that is allowed.

heading for centennial also. Falls. But still praying for medical calls.

okay, thanks. applying for another masters means waiting for another year cos most of the school offering Masters program in jan do not have any program that might be of interest to me. If i have to wait that long i think i might not even bother going again cos i actually did apply for master last year frm three diff schools and didn't get any positive response from them. thats why i decided to go for pgd so that i could apply in canada after my program. i heard it is easier that way. what course are u going to study there? good luck on ur application. anyways let me know how it goes.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by Jijola: 8:43am On Jul 05, 2014
Bro, the new course is not much different from ur 1st degree and Master course. Why not get admission for a specialised Masters in an area relevant to interel? It may be difficult to convince them that you're going for a lesser degree in a related field.

Why would they not give U admission 2:1?Maybe there's a problem with the way u r applying, or the school U did ur 1st or 2nd degree. Don't also limit ur application to only 1 school.

awe2015: Hi fellow nairalanders I am aspiring to apply to Memorial University for Linguistics and I am completing my B.Phil and B.A in Philosophy by this time next year, but I will like to begin my application asap at least before September admission 2015. I would like to be suggested a month in particular to send my application to the school. I WISH TO BE GUIDED!

probably. i actually applied to three schools. concordia uni, university of victoria and uni of waterloo. for the same course. MA in public admin. all of them denied my application. an agent actually told me that those schools have preference based on ethnicity. they tk more of indians than nigerians. and it is only if you have a first class that u might actually have a higher possibility of gaining admission.

It's not a separate message. It is attached to ur medical instruction. The second sheet that has a bar code on it.
chichi89: Good morning all.
So I just read the medical instructions email again and there was a place they said something about a 'medical form' that will be sent in a different mail which 'may' take a few days to arrive.
Please to those who have done their medicals, how long did it take to receive the 2nd mail? Because I called the hospital yesterday and they said I can come in on tuesday morning. I hope I get it before then.

Dude, you do not have problem. My success story is in d making already as I got called for medicals yesterday.I was granted full scholarship by the university I am going to for my graduate program.
Your scholarship letter would do a very good work for u. In my own case, I submitted my brother's SOA, letter of intro from his place of work, his 4months pay slip and affidavit sworn for my sponsorship.I added all this so as to give a proof of connection to my homeland.
Aside this, my sop summarized all I have worked on, what problems I wanna come back home to solve....
In my own opinion, I think u are good to go. You may just add your parent's docs to strenghten it more and also assure them you gat backup finance source should anything happen.Which of d schools are you heading to ?

Did they pay your tuition already or is it after your visa what were the conditions stated.. check your email..

@sexysammy0906 the public admin in uni of waterloo is kind of tailored towards the Canadian setting,MAYBE that was a reason for denial. I also wanted to go for it but had to opt for Peace and Conflict Studies because of that. UVic to my understanding has low acceptance rate (I stand corrected) and has a lot of requirements. Twas also one of the schools I wanted to apply to but got discouraged. You should try other universities and colleges too. A lot of time has to be put into research and get in touch with the department before you apply too.

ok 1st of all,the average percentage they accept is 78%. Can you still access your quest account? What was their calculation?
Then did you include a copy of your final year project in your application?
