Nigerians sef!! Roof leak, is it d ministers fault? Let's answer this sincerely, If ur Fathers pays some1 to make a roof, n weeks later d roof leaked, who would u Hold? Ur Father or d Carpenter?? We just love to criticise. When will we stop this PHD (Pull Him Down) syndrome?

Underground: Nigerians are indeed a funny lot. How in Heaven's name did this become an APC Vs. PDP issue? The simple and undeniable fact is that the roof/ceiling is leaking water. The pictures are there for all to see. Did I pick bowls up from the toilet or from the security scanner and place them on the floor to stage pictures of a leaking roof? Can the doubters please explain?? Why can't Nigerians just put sentiments aside and criticize and rebuke anything that is wrong no matter who is responsible?

It didn't rain yesterday at Ikeja but there are bowls lying on the floor of our number 1 international airport collecting water from leaking ceilings!! It may be the ACs that are faulty. I do not know but those bowls are there and it is a national disgrace. Let's say it as it is!! What is all this nonsense talk about APC or how Stella must remain in office or how the renovated Akani Ibiam Airport Roof Is NOT Leaking?? My God! So the fact that Akani Ibiam Airport Roof Is NOT Leaking should be celebrated?? Have we sunk so low in our standards or are we so bereft of any standards at all that we actually post something such as the roof of an airport not leaking as something that is newsworthy and that must be celebrated??

Nigeria is truly finished!

Give me a hug...no homo.

Nigeria is a crazy place embarassed embarassed embarassed
We want things to be better but many cling on to tribal cleavages to defend their 'brother/sister/tribesman' even when the criticism is justified
Every thread is now reduced into an APC vs PDP, Ijaw and Ibo vs Hausa/Yoruba and others issue
Divide and rule was invented by the British colonialists and has been perfected by the Ebele administration to cover its glaring incompetence
Yet sadly, bad governance knows no tribe and many of this ethnic warriors HAVE never met and WILL never meet this their so called kinsmen

That been said,if you have ever passed through MMIA you will know it is a sh*thole compared to other regional hubs like Amsterdam's Schipol or South Africa's OR Tambo
Let's not even call out Dubai's DXB
Last time I passed through MMIA [under 2 weeks], I [along with every other person]was just sweating like Christmas goats, couldn't get a place to sit after clearing immigration and waiting for my flight by the departure gate etc
The minister might be trying to push try uplifts on the current structures but there's as much as you can do with archaic infrastructure
What I would have expected the FG to have done is partner with the LASG to build the planned new airport in Lekki axis
But do you expect to see vision from a kindergarten presidency? cool cool

A-ZeD:

The sad part is the PDP and APC chieftains are in Abuja sharing the country's money while some low lifes are busy defending 'their own'. With the kind of people frequenting Nairaland, there is no hope for the country.
So sad bruv
However you should know that Nairaland and most popular online media in Nigeria are swarming with pro government apologists [esp that of the FG]
It was Nasir Rufai who first alluded to a 40 man laptop crew operating from Aso Rock and he's been proved right from what one has seen esp on NL
Yet laptop militia or not, they cannot stand truth and reality on its head
The current FG is glaringly incompetent

chima12: Nigerians just have bad mentality.they just love to criticise and will rather pray for the failure of any government no matter how good the govt is if they do not belong or support the ruling party.
This is no proof that the ceiling is leaking;but even if it is leaking, what is the airport management doing about it?what stops them from getting someone or a good carpenter to correct the problem perhaps just by changing the roofing sheet at point of leakage with new ones?it won't cost anything because its just a minor repair.if the airport management has decided to leave these minor repairs for the minister, then of what use are they in the airport?the management of the airport deserves to be queried if it is true that the roof is leaking.they can't just keep quiet to embarass the minister with issues like leaking roof, they have to show what effort or measures were taken to correct the problem.the airport staff are the ones who work at the airport 7 days a week not the minister.

Jesus is Lord. how is he one-sided? You are so deluded. The forces of tribalism,"nigerian politics" and so on, has such a strangulating effect towards you to such effect that even if a situation is presented to you in a clear and logical sequence you still are blinded.

P.S: Maybe if you too carry a bucket around and hold it close to your head to save your dripping brain matter we can drill another hole on the other side of your head and pour the saved brain matter in it. At least, if for nothing else, that should be enough juice to effectively communicate to your fingers how to tie ur shoe laces properly.

I really cannot believe the level of ignorance and sheer thoughtless stu.pid.ity on this thread. Firstly, there is NO SUCH THING as "the newly renovated MMIA". If MMIA renovation is complete we would see all the pictures of it posted everywhere like we have the other airports. The airport remodelling is most definitely not completed by any stretch of the imagination. In fact everywhere you go around the airport there are signs stating that remodelling is ongoing, and for travellers to bear with the airport authority. In fact many parts of the airport are restricted from the public while the work progresses. Why then will these wicked imbeci.les come on here and pretend the remodelling is complete? And then claim a roof was leaking? Assuming a roof was leaking, shouldn't you bastards be at least grateful the airport was allowed to function at all in the face of heavy remodelling? How do you expect perfection in a facility in which construction work of all types is ongoing? In fact I think low IQ is the problem with many folks here. They just think like animals. Ridiculous. (Spit) Ballabriggs and co, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Worthless animals who never see any good in themselves or country. The day you renovate your dirty, stinking, putrid houses, invite me to take pictures of it while the work is ongoing, so I can post on Nairaland to show disgust at your diseased residences. Bastards.

so she should resign cos of leaking roof? Can you say you are 100% sure that picture is even in Nigeria. Am not sure you have been to nigeria before. If I may ask what is the work of the FAAN? That airport must have a manager, that section of the airport must have a supervisor, what are their duties? Maybe to collect salaries at the end of the month. Let criticise when it's necessary. Calling a minister to resign cos of roof leakage sounds bizarre. Even the GM of that airport can never resign cos of roof leakage. But I still doubt that picture anyway.

A Nigerian president killed a whole 2 villages and won re-election.
A Nigerian state gov from east killed a road user in Lagos sometimes, did he resign?

It's either you are an agent of NCAA or Stella Oduah. This is not a picture of the MMIA. I traveled out of that airport 5days ago and almost missed my flight due to errors displayed on the NCAA computer controlled boarding pass.

That is a picture of MMIA2 (The local airport) Anyone that has been to the airport can clearly see that. Please do not misinform people.

I'll post another picture on my return if I do happen to come across such a sight again. I will also hold up a copy of the present day's newspaper to show that this isn't some old picture.

Besides, even if the airport is still undergoing renovation? It is permissible or acceptable to have bowls on the floor collecting water?

CFCfan: Utterly disgraceful. The contractor(s) should be probed ASAP!

Contractors do what they are paid to do. You better probe those working on behalf of the FAAN... The way it often works is like this:

You give a quotation for, let's say, 1 million naira. Then the decision maker tells you to give them a proforma invoice for, let's say, 2.45 million, and you keep your 1 million out of it. So, the customer pays 2.45 million, but you keep only 1 million, and execute the work valued at 1 million. And in the end, who's fault is it all? You can't get a contract unless you agree to these unwritten conditions, take it or leave it.
