Hi guys

My car suddenly developed brake issues, i noticed it on my way back from work. each time i depress the brake pedal it goes flat and makes a rubbing sound around the pedal area. i also notice that the braking force was reduced, i just crawled home and checked the brake fluid and it was completely dry.

I was baffled cos i was expecting to have the brake warning light or abs light come on but it did not. i bought a can of brake fluid and filled it before driving to a near by mechanic. after the guy inspected it he stated that my master cylinder is leaking, i thanked him paid him and left.
on getting home i parked the car. the next morning the brake fluid has drained again and there are no leakages around the wheel

Has anyone experience something similar?

Na wah ooooo this our lexus club is dying.

Anyway fixed the issue. I took it to this guy that I know that fixes my wife's car. So he first checked all the brake lines and piston for leaks, there were none so he too suspected the servo or the master cylinder. So he checked both and behold the problem was the master cylinder was leaking oil into the servo. (This solved the mystery of no leaks or oil puddle around the car tyres)
We called some parts seller for price and I was told 18k for tokunbo? ?? In this economy

? I asked my mechanic if it can't be fixed. He said "oga Na sealed one dem no dey open am" I took the device and on closer inspection saw what looked like a hexagonal design. This was the way into the device but it was cleverly hidden as a design.
I told the guy to get a pipe wrench and with that we opened it. Initially the guy was scared but I told him to go ahead that worst I will replace the cylinder, and no harm in trying to fix it. So when we opened it we discovered that it was a twisted rubber seal that caused the leak. We removed it and put it back properly, coupled it back to test it. Low and behold the leak has stopped.

So guys being a little adventurous ( with reason) sometimes pays.

The mechanic now has a first hand experience with master cylinders, something he sees as a no go area.

Morning house,
1) I got the steering issue fixed before the weekend and it became free. 3 days later it gets hard/strong to turn it sometimes while driving (could give me shoulder/hand ache)

2) Since Sunday, while I am driving, the car forces itself to accelerate. It kinda drags while accelerating like it's being pushed to move.

3) I tried to reverse that sunday evening but it's reversal failed even when it indicated "R" on the dashboard. Instead of it reversing, it stays put, then drags itself, moves like 3 inches forward (while on REVERSE)
Almost trapped me that evening where I went to. All I did was place it on Drive and kept moving forward. After a while of driving I tried the reverse then it responded.
Normally, before you change a gear position, you need to place your foot on brake before you could press the knob on the gear. But when reversal failed, I could press the knob without stepping on brake just like when it's on Neutral.

4) I was travelling yesterday evening and the accelerating ish came up again, after sometime it starts going smoothly, after sometime again it drags....this was on the highway (frightening tho' cos someone could hit you from behind when it occurs). I will travel back this morning and I guess I will drive sluggishly on the way.

I'm sorry for my lengthy post. Please kindly treat this issue and give suggestions on a remedy.

Happy sunday club Lexus family. My abs light vsc off and vsc trac with check engine just started showing on my 03 GX 470. Scan results revealed that the abs sensor needs replacement and the exhaust cat was 72% aged. Does anyone have an idea of the price outlay for the abs sensor and exhaust cat(maybe 2 I guess.)
Gazzuz, any ideas...we discussed this before I went for scan.

All four tires of my rx300 were expired and while still using them I discovered I had to pump all four at least once a week, by the end of the week, they all go down, so I guess it was because they were all expired.

Fast forward, I got four brand new tires, not up to two weeks am experiencing the same thing, they all go down gradually. Am sure of the new tires as original, but why must I always pump all four tires?
Pls help

Yes, take all four tyres off the vehicle, ask the tyre specialists to pump and check for air leakages via water/soap bath

Good day house, Pls I need assistance. I change my evaporator on Lexus RX 350 but I notice each time I increase the temperature to 79 or 80 degree, the direction of the aircondition will change automatically to down instead of direct opposite me.
