Thanks forkadict. I am on transit, runing with a vision. If you have a vision and lie down with it, then you become a liar. I am on the move, till they call. That situation will sort itself out. It is foolhardiness waitng for a single opportunity when there are millions unearthed. Let the opportunity catch up with me. We will cross the bridge when we get there. Meanwhile, some indigent and destitute naija kids some where in the slum needs a ray of hope and food to eat. I need to run along to make my visions grow wings while NLNG sorts herself out.

If we go still come bonny, God go steer the course. You have been an inspiration bro..remain blessed..Thank you all for your good wishes. @dway4ward and airsaylongcon, you guys are making a whole lot of sense. I understand you both constructively but you guys seem to be at cross-purposes. Whatever you find your hand doing, i believe you can touch the world with it. You can serve humanity with it. That is where i stand. There are zillions of platforms to serve humanity and make the world a better place. The traffic wardfer is doing his bit, the ED of a reputable Oil firm is doing his. Just have that mindset to serve and there will be no limitations to your service.
forkadict:

Big congratulations to you on your new offer bro. I wish you the very best. But what if our guys from Bonny come calling? What then happens?

Nice one anyways.

A govt is budgeting N500bn for socialist program in a country that has no accurate database of its vulnerable citizens, at a time we need infrastructure like air, at a time NLNG needs to add more trains and employ people and people are hailing a "courageous" N6tr budget..claiming we are on the right path.

Well, I just hope they are right

Lol, it's a dilemma. But I'd keep my mouth shut. The risk outweighs the benefit.

When a less risky avenue presents itself to whistleblow, i'd take it.

Modified: sorry I missed that!
Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 1:46pm On Dec 10, 2015
What is the company culture on whistleblowing? And it's recommended procedure? If these exist, what is the body language of those who'll typically receive and act on the exposé? If negative, cease and desist. If positive, blow and feign ignorance on the potential relationship between the new consultant and your boss.

Say the credit note you believe was sent in before the consultant came on board was just presented, and given the value of the note it would have ideally been processed if there's no malpractice going on. Harp on the integrity of the company.

Last last, use your church mind... I won't be with you if your boss starts to act funny or if your mind isn't at rest for allowing wrong to prevail. All the best.[quote

NanaF what's the connection between your immediate boss and the consultants? If you blow the whistle will it be anonymous? Can you directly be identified as the source of the sound of the whistle?

Off topic but I need advice.

Please don't quote me Cus I'll edit later.

We pay consultants to collect WHT Credit notes on our behalf from various companies. So I was following up with this company who remits in USD. Eventually they told me it was ready, since it's close to the office, I sent my I.T to pick it up.When staff pick up credit notes, its at zero cost to the company.

I.T staff gave my boss and I never saw it for months. I kept reminding him to give me to post but stories on stories.

He eventually got his person to be one of the consultants collecting credit notes. Remember those same credit notes he refused to give me, I kept pestering him and he gave me like 4 low value ones almost 5 months after. I was surprised but I left him.

Today, the consultant brought an old high value credit note from the same company. In June, I sent emails to the company asking if this particular credit note was available , they told me it was ready and it was collected by my I.T staff but I never saw it. Now, the consultant has brought his Bill and charged commission on this in excess on 1m. I'm absolutely sure that it was my I.T staff that collected the credit notes which was then given to these consultants to charge my company.

To whistle blow or not? My boss is very nice to me so I honestly have nothing against him. I'm also scared that one of the people who get the whistle blowing email will tell him Cus they are friends.

So I suggest you follow the code of ethics of your company strictly. Don't take it like you are reporting him; there is an issue that has to be solved and you guys needs to work together to fix the problem. Blames might come later.

Just forward the email to him to review and respond to the consultant but make sure you put another in CC.

Cheers.

Truthisout kindly edit your post and remove the quote.

I'm not sure you get my explanation though I tried to be as detailed as possible.

What this means is that he's basically dashing the consultant money he didn't earn. Meaning he can give the consultant credit notes he got from staff (which shouldn't cost the company anything) and ask the consultant to present it to the company and charge commission for it.

NanaF, he isn't dashing the consultant money. He is making money for himself. Or you think he hasn't got a cut inside the 1m?

A crime has been committed, if it comes out the link through (and to) her can be made easily making her culpable and in a worse case scenario it makes her an accessory cos even if there's no money trail in her name, it only makes her look suspicious sitting on the info for over 5 months.

Now in the case she starts the procedure to whistle-blow and the criminal circle was kept small enough recognizing only her as the oblivious loose end. Now she says it will get back to the perpetrators that it's her that reported; let's say the company decides to keep it in-house because the scandal won't be good for reputation and bad rep isn't good for future business. They keep it in-house, sack both the boss and I.T guy and they take up the vendetta (I've seen people killed for less), what assurances does she have for her safety??

Keeping the whistle holstered seems a good idea.

I advise you whistle blow, but ensure you don't narrate the story in anyway it could be traced to you. And also do not use an email or any media that will bring you out. Not one they will input on google, facebook or any site and your face will stick out like you are the 'pope'. If it is impossible to do anything, take a walk. Its always better to leave with your integrity intact otherwise they will soon initiate you into it. I pray nlng calls fast and you make it, this decision will be easier.

Saved2Serve, thank you for that post. I wonder why you removed it. It was of immense benefit to me and I have to acknowledge. How much I wished I knew this earlier. Although I took time to thank my assessors at the beginning of each session, but the letter would have been better by far. Thanks bro.
