MY ONE REGRET

Sakura used to love him so much,
She was supposed to be his,
Sakura had always been meant for him,
But he was always ignoring her,
Ignoring her for more mundane things,
Ignoring her efforts to have him notice her,
Ignoring all the times she had helped him,
Ignored all the times she had stayed beside him,
Ignored all the times he had pushed himself to the edge of death,
Only for her to bring him back,
Almost at the cost of her own,

But not once had he given her the time of day,

Insulted her, (Called her weak)
Underestimated her,
Broken her heart,
Over and over again,
But now Sakura had gotten over him,
And before long Itachi had taken notice of her,
Treasured her,
Protected her,
Cared for her,
Loved her,
And she fell for him.
And now after all this time,
He realizes, (It was the first time that I ever had the urge to kill my brother.)
That he loves her.
That he always had.
And that,
It was too late. (I already lost her.)
If it were any other man but Itachi,
He would have taken her back.
Fought for her,
Without a second thought. (And beg on my knees to love me once more)
But even he knows, (But I've never seen her smile like that because of me.)
When to give up, (And the reason she could smile like that was Itachi.)
He loves her,
But he'll let her go.
Knowing that,
Itachi would never,
Make her unhappy.
Even if it hurts,
He'll always watch over her,
And love her,
Until he breathed his last.
And because of that,
She'll always be my one regret.
