Governor Peter Obi has laid the foundation stone for the multi-million maternity and child care centre at Ugwuagba Obosi. Governor Obi performed the function within St. Martin Catholic Hospital premises.

He also presented a cheque of thirty million Naira being the total sum required to complete the project and signifying the commencement of the building of a total of 11 maternity complexes in remote parts of the State to improve maternal and child health.

Part of the fund for the projects was from the prize money won by the State as the best on immunization coverage from Bill and Millinda Gate Foundation competition. Governor Obi said the project was in partnership with Church to bring quality healthcare services down to the grassroots.

He disclosed that the State government would embark on major infrastructural development of the area, while St. Patrick’s Secondary School Ugwuagba would before 13th of December receive a school bus, about two million naira for laboratories and library as well as forty computer sets with complete accessories.

The Governor urged the church to accelerate work to ensure early completion of the project.

Peter Obi keeps taking gaint strides I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ all sectors of Anambra state. His developmental strategy carved into ANIDS ensures that all sectors of governance experience a massive turn around! God'll continue to bless Anambra with leaders that understand that governance transcends Road construction and media hype!

In a sane environment, this is what a Local government chairman would be doing. Instead your governor is the donor here milking treasury dry.

^^^Do they understand what governance is? The man has refused to account for the billions in LGA funds he's coveted these past 8 years; and every now and again he'll release a pathetic sweetener, and moro/ns will hail him as the best thing since sliced bread!

The way he doles out money willy-nilly smacks of desperation, and all this just started in the last 6 months.......after spending close to 8 years doing near fuc/kall!

It's all too little too late!

I am from Anambra State and naturally I am interested in moving my state forward. With regards to the politics of my state, I have taken a position and that position reflects in all of my posts on NL. I owe no one no apologies.

Maybe you should read below the position of the World Bank on the issues you raised

Sincere 9gerian:

He said that the World Bank would adopt Obi’s direct disbursement of resources to end-users since it had evidently worked in the state

Speaking on the project, the Senior Education Specialist for the World Bank, Prof. Tunde Adekola said Anambra State was selected for World Bank intervention because Governor Peter Obi demonstrated accountability by using available resources to deliver better education results

What position? That of Tunde (a mere specialist not even a director at the World Bank)? I wonder for your type, basic compiment is not an endorsement from the global institution. In terms of measurement, how many top-notch individuals has the governor's so called education module produced? What is their contribution to the body of knowledge and advancement of Anambra economy?

I think those that described illiteracy as a disease had you in mind. How do you expect any education model, no matter how fantastic, to produce "top-notch individuals" in 7-8 years? You need serious help

Peter Obi is nothing but a blessing to Ndi-Anambra. Most of the APC e-warriors don't even know the location of Anambra state on the Nigeria map. I'm on ground and I'll continue to applaud the wonderful works of Mr Peter Obi. There's no sector that hasn't been touched by the marvelous works of Obi. He's a rare gem.

So why your bloody reference/ link to World Bank intervention? I am sure your mindset is fixated at cheap and local popularities! If you can read...my comments were based on how inferior your governors' education model is...for the WB to intervene. How has he delivered better educational results in the state? What has been the performance of Anambra State in WAEC/NECO in the last consecutive eight years?
