ROSSIKE: Jonathan has been a far busier president than Mandela ever was. Mandela took over a South Africa that was for all intents and purposes, already developed, with infrastructure, power, good schools etc etc already in place. All he did was basically sit in his airconditioned office drinking tea and preaching peace and reconciliation. Jonathan on the other hand, is out there on the streets, in the hot sun, commissioning rail projects, commissioning power projects, steel plants, airports, road projects, fighting ASUU, fighting Boko Haram, and all these other developmental issues.

In fact if Mandela had ruled in Nigeria, I doubt he would have been more effective than say the late President Yar'Adua or maybe Abdulsalami Abubakar. Jonathan is a dynamic leader. A man of action.
U are mad, has jona cum to ur street to commission airport

Okupe shouldn't mock Mandela. Does this attack dog know history? Talking about sacrificing 13 hours against over two decades in prison!

I doubt if there is any form of communicatiin
between okupe's brain and his mouth, the guy just
open his mouth to any diameter and allow total
nonsense and absolute balderdash to gush out
which is irritating to the ears and very annoying,
comparin Madiba to GEJ is the highest degree of
insult to Nelson Mandela and taking nigerians for a
ride,

ROSSIKE: Yes, he is our Mandela. You don't need to be jailed for 27 years to be a 'Mandela'. Which other Nigerian president has expanded agriculture, fixed the railway, remodelled 22 airports, repaired thousands of miles of federal roads, transformed the power sector, banking sector, telecoms, construction etc, all within a space of 2 years? He is even better than Mandela sef.

You must have been smoking elephant grass

These Politicians are actually poking their fingers in our eyes and daring us to do our worst because they know fully well that the balance of power is tilted in their favour.

One of them has actually called Patience Jonathan his own Jesus Christ on earth and now the inept Jonathan is compared to Mandela.

Jonathan is surrounded by advisers who are mocking him and will eventually lead him to disgrace.

DOYIN OKUPE: > "Nelson Mandela was a great leader, he lived his life for the people of South Africa.

"I check through the history of Nigeria, among our past and present leaders, the only one we call our Mandela here in Nigeria is President Jonathan. There is no any President in Nigeria that has sacrifice 13 hours to discuss with ASUU."

FELLOW NAIRALANDERS, Do you agree with Okupe that GEJ is the equivalent of Mandela here in Nigeria.?
So MaNDELA do talk with ASUU too? Nawa oo..tot they were a Nigeria tingy... Thanks Doyin for enlightening US. Ode oshi!

Be realistic when talking about leaders like Mandela, there has never been any leader in Africa like Mandela and there never will be. He belives everyone can lead, he belives in what you highlighted about Goodluck Jonathan but GEJ has 2015 to prove he can be a Mandela.

Sagamite:

You are a pure person!

You really need to check yourself into a decent mental health facility.

Which railway did Jonathan fix? Which roads did he repair? How as he transformed the power sector, banking blah blah blah, person!

All the things you listed cretinously are projects started before the cretin you have as President and which the cretin has not done anything significant about to get any credit.

Even the Agricultural sector development is inspite of Jonathan, not because of Jonathan.

Moooron!

I may not support the comparison between GEJ and Madiba, but your post on GEJ is TOTALLY wrong.

GEJ is SOLELY responsible for the agricultural revolution that we currently experience, making the sector a major source of foreign exchange after petroleum. Hell, even our bright Agricultural Minister was just named FORBES MAN OF THE YEAR.

Yes, GEJ is responsible for the reforms in the power sector. OBJ may have initiated the construction of a number of new power stations (kudos to him), but who is responsible for the completion and expansion of same projects, the building of additional power statiins, tthe repair of existing transmission facilities, building of new transmission lines, substations, and the distribution of transformers across the federation? who was also responsible for the Gas Revolution that saw the construction of new gas pipelines, thus resolving the issue of gas supply to these stations? Thats right, GEJ.

And yes, under the GEJ administration, we have experienced the revival of our once dilapidated rail networks. The trains are up and running (though slow), and more lines are currently being constructed as we speak.

And finally roads. If there is one area that sets GEJ higher than his predecessor s (both military and civilian) it is the repairs of our major highways long abandoned and the construction of new roads. And as a frequent traveller, I can personally attest to that. Is it the long abandoned Jalingo-Wukari road, Otukpo road that once caused me to rain insults on David Mark, Abakiliki-Ogoja-Cameroun road, Ogoja Ikom road, Jalingo-Numan/Yola (a main transport artery to the core north-east region), or the once dreaded Okigwe-Umuahia-Aba-PHC road? GEJ has fixed them all.

BUT that said, we still can't compare GEJ with Mandela. Even GEJ himself will refute it. Dr. Okupe was wrong.

NO!

Our diversification leading to the development of the Agricultural sector has been a policy BEFORE Jonathan and has been taking effect BEFORE Jonathan.

Our brilliant Agricultural Minister has done well while Jonathan is busy looting and protecting criminals that are stealing money budgeted for the development of Nigeria and which could have gone into the agricultural sector. If the minister wanted to loot instead of doing his job, Jonathan would not give a fck and would protect him. So the development is IN SPITE of Jonathan.

Hence Jonathan is not responsible for any agricultural revolution.

Please tell me hour many megawatts of electricity Nigeria produces at the moment.
