There is a noiseless and fueless generating set in the market, at just 40k its way better inverter or UPS.

@OP,I need an advice please and clearification..I have heard alot about Inverters but dont know much about it.
What kind of Inverter do i need to power my fan, A.C(1.5hp) and light bulb 'cos am tired of using Generators.
Is it advisable i go for an inverter or keep on with my Generator...
If i should, what's the best Type i should go for and the cost...
Thanks

Mbeki: A neighbour's inverter caught fire and nearly burnt down the whole building saved for fire service department, what could be the cause, in a new building we're constructing, we are considering building an inverter house outside and connecting to the main house with an underground cable, just in case of fire, what's your take?

inverter catching fire has to do with many factors:type of cable used, the electrical wiring system of the house, class of inverter installation, what kind of inverter used and installation accessories. Among other factor that a proper electrical audit will point-out.

I bought 1.5kva inverter with 2 deepcycle batteries (each 200V) I have used the batteries for like 18months now. Now when power goes, I just have power for like 2hours before the inverter alarm start beeping. Does that mean i need to get another set of batteries? if yes, what model can you suggest. I need the one that can work for like 2years

Energi inverters are suitable for harsh conditions where power voltage is extremely unstable (aka naija) grin

big father: This is what i've been looking for. Thanks for this thread.

I just got a 1.5kva inverter barely 2months ago and it came with 2 100AH but to my surprise, the battery hardly last for 3hrs. All i use is a rechargeable fan and 42 inches LCD tv. And funny enough , all lights are switched off most of the time.
Connect a 5kva stabilizer to the inverter, the inverter needs steady voltage to charge the batteries (don't mind that your voltage might look high). I had the same problem, the stabilizer worked wonders. I can't really tell you how to connect it cos I got a technician to do it, you might need one too.

Where is the OP?

I got a 1.5kva Luminous inverter + 2*200 amps batteries installed just over 2 months ago. Working very well, I'm really pleased. Only concern is I noticed recently that the batteries are beginning to bulge at the sides, which could be indicative of over charging? Please, I need answers!

sunnym: Ask me any question about your inverter and I will try to answer as soon as possible. Or you can send me email on sunnylawson2@yahoo.com.

@Sunnym
Kindly assist with my enquiries below:

I intend to pick a CyberPower 2.2KV 24V INVERTER with 2 Units 12V 200AH 20Hr Deep Cycle battery (Luminous batteries)
How good is that combination
And I will need a charger controller for Inverter System above.
Which brand and capacity will you recommend

I intend to load the INVERTER system above with the Gadgets below,

1.) 10 Units of 25W Energy Saver Bulbs
2.) 42" Plasma TV
3.) 1No Double door Refridgerator
4.) 1No Single door small Feezer
5.) 1No Computer PC Unit
6.) 1No Mini Home Theater.

HOW MANY HOURS WILL IT LAST ON FULL CHARGE.

Thank you.

deeptesting: Please i have an inverter with two batteries of 12V 18OAh which i only use to power my CCTV Machine at home 24 hours but i want to have it connected to all the bulbs(energy) in my rooms and kitchen but i did conduit wiring and don`t any surface wires, how can i achieve this goal?
if your wiring was done by a certified electrical engineer, then you don't have a problem. Lighting system, heating system (cookers etc), sockets etc are connected to different circuit breakers on the distribution board cos their ratings vary. So all you need do is get an engineer to help you include the lighting system. But if na those electricians wire your house for you, then your case don enter voicemail...because they connect anyhow to the distribution board grin. That's the reason why appliance blow up when current is high instead of the 15amps circuit breaker to just switch off. In the apartment i'm staying, whoever wired it connected some sockets to 30amps that is meant for cooker. So technically; apart from the fact that such house can't achieve what you wanna do due to mixed up connections, my appliances are not safe too sad.

My brother, with what you explained above, how much will it cost to get something like the above?

@Op, thanks for this informative thread. I have an inverter with 2 x 200AH Batteries. My previous batteries died under 8 months. I was made to understand that connecting UPS to inverter kills inverter batteries. I was also told that it is not good charging inverter with Gen. How true? please confirm

I bought a fairly used 24v, 1.5kva innova inverter with 2 200ah 12v battery, but wrongly connected just one 12v battery and d 24v inverter supplied excess voltage and damaged d battery. D battery presently is swollen. But after connecting d 2batteries in parallel, d inverter charges d batteries, but it does not last for 30mins even if I only turn on light bulbs and fan. So I assume the faulty battery is making the other battery not to work well. Please is there any where I can get such battery fixed. Is a mercury dry cell battery. Also, can I get a cheaper battery, because I checked Jumia and the price of their battery was 55K. Thanks.
