N1.5bn to build house for David Mark, Tambuwal
and their deputies
N1b to build house of Sambo
N391,829,200, on research and development by
the police
N80m on computer software acquisition for the
police
N219. 7m on the maintenance of its offices and
residential buildings for the police.
The police total budget is N292,351,812,085.
N310,553,170 for the purchase of vehicles in
2014 for the police
Air navigation equipment are billed to take
N131,058,830 for the police
Rehabilitation of police stations, office buildings
and barracks , N735,878,855.
Maintenance of motor vehicles by the police will
cost N463,935,012
while ‘other maintenance services’ are billed to
gulp N238,861,716 .
Uniforms and clothings will cost N964,694,529.
FUELING OF GENERATORS
1. Ministry of Finance N76.5m
2. Police formation and command N71.3m
3. Ministry of Foreign Affaris N56.16m
4. Ministry of Health N47.62M
We will be spending more than N250m Naira on
fueling generators for four ministries in 2014.
Can somebody see the joke they called budget
in this Country? How does the common man
benefit from all these?
We are told we have some 370,000 police offices
in ths country and we will be spending close to 1
billion Naira to cloth them. How much does a
police clothing cost? We will spending another
N238,861,716 on maintenance services
(although we were not told what we need to
maintain with such amount), we will also spend
another N463,935,012 on maintaining police
vehicles. We were not again told how many
vehicles we will be maintaining with close to half
a bilion Naira. We will be spending more than
>N735m Naira on rehabilitating police barracks,
we will also spend some N131,058,830, and
spending some N310,553,170 to buy police
vehicles in 2014. What we are spending on
maintaining vehicles is more than what we are
spending on purchasing vehicles for the police in
2014. We will be spending some N80m Naira on
computer and software.
Gving the security challenges in this country, I
am in support of good funding of the police, I
need further clarifications on how many
computers and software will gulp as much as
N80m? Hope with this huge budget our police
will wake up OUR from their sleeping on duty
and give Nigerians the value for this huge
expenditure. TODAY IS YESTERDAY`S
TOMORROW.

In this era where kidnappers or terrorists earn over a million in a month, would you prefer our security personnels to be underpaid, thus seeking a better option in crime.

^^^ I hope you don't think this justified the absurdities that are plain in the budget without looking hard. I barely skimmed it before responding here. #80 million on police stuff and #480m on software for which police stations actually. The decrepit Area G in Ogba or the jokes that pass for stations at Pen Cinema and along Iju road. We are talking about police that don't begin to comprehend forensic evidence or cyber-policing, in fact, some barely know how to use a laptop. A Yahoo boy or two caught by them may have confirm this.

But the truth. I don't even need this thread to know Nigerian beauracrats are in a twisted world of their own. That is why a govt in 2012 whilst giving people a season to cry budget 0.9 billion(#900 million) on food for Aso rock. Has the temerity to propose a VP chalet running into billions. Builds guest hosues for National Assmbly leadrrs in billions, which they rejected and so wasted. Bought another jet. Funny ain't it, na so so billions we dey hear; never millions, save millions in dollars. SMH.

They have reduced national budget to a very petty level of re-active annual purchases.

No long term plan, no people oriented projects, etc. All we see is bulding houses for this and that. Buying cars and jets, etc.

And the same guy will do another budget before leaving in 2015. About N8tr will be wasted between now and 2015.
