1. State one specific problem that you think is plaguing your environment.

2.What are/is the impact of this problem on the society

3.Provide the solution on how the government / private companies/ individuals can tackle this problem. Please, state the pros and cons of your solution.

4.If the problem needs funding, how can they (government) source the money without interfering with budget or for individual, how can they raise funding to tackle the problem?

Same F$%$^king posts over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Lets start by holding our government accountability. How about the Death Penalty for Obasanjo and co? Then BANNING religion by regulating churches with strict laws. grin grin grin grin grin

It’s not the same post over and over, we all agree that Corruption is a general problem that needs different approach and strategy. Some people suggested death penalty, and they gave their reason to justify the purpose and why it will work.

We all believe that infrastructure (Irrigation, Telecom, IT, Postal Services, Water, Dams and Canals, Waste water,) is still a big bane in our dear country. We have a lot of oversight in this sector. A lot of these infrastructure deficiencies are not visible to our government or to many. This is a thread where we can collectively share our experience and highlight some of the problems and provide pointers/solution on how to fix these problems.

Some of us believe Lagos state Government is not doing enough or maximizing their potential in terms of human resources and capital allocated to it. Here is the thread where we can collectively point out some of those lapses; offer our form of recommendation in order to correct those lapses. Identify problems that many people don’t know about either in Lagos or anywhere within the country and device a plan to combat or reduce the problem. State your reasoning for, and how you think your solution will work.

Why banning church, what about moqsue and other religion practices. quite frankly religion is one small part of the problem.

THE BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM IS CORRUPTION. - of mind, soul , financial and physical.

Find a comprehensive, strict, workable and effcetive solution to CORRUPTION that start now dealing with past and present leaders including ordinary citizen in equal measure, open and transparently we will have the birth of a new NEW NIGERIAN.

ANYTHING ELSE IS WINDOW DRESSING

THE BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM IS CORRUPTION.

Corruption is not exactly the big elephant in the room. Every soul knows the Nigeria has corrupt leaders. Everyone knows that NOTHING happens to those corrupt leaders. Everyone knows Nigerians would rather run abroad that hold their government responsible. Everyone knows the money people send back home is the one still holding Nigeria together, nothing new!!!

I'm not sure how long you've been a nairaland member. but everyone knows that Nigeria has the problem of CORRUPTION. Nothing new and its defiantely NOT the big elephant in the room.

We can talk about it from morning till night, more of the issue becomes what are you going to do about it.

you are right, we should see ourselves as servants to the nation.

we should start by identifying an area where we think we can make impact and start working towards it. i know if we all do so, this country would be great.

@ Poster, since it seems you asked a serious question, I am going to try answering with a serious response here

Problem: Lack of adequate infrastructure to help educate our youths and low level of education in the country

Impact: Students are not able to adequately compete with their peers internationally and so are limited in opportunity and exposure

Probable solution: Government can invest more money in to educating the teachers and providing them with tools they need to effectively pass knowledge onto the students. Students should be exposed to information and activities that help them put to work skills and knowledge acquired to help both educate and help them gain needed experience before they walk out into the real world outside of school.

Funding: Government can improve on the way it disburses funds to various schools and local governments. Put in place measures to ensure that every cent is accounted for at least 95% of the time. All members of project team understand that they will be held responsible for success or failure of plans. Government should have a score system that will allow teams with successful work earn scores to increase the likelihood of them getting projects funds in the future as opposed to those who fail or loose money.
I would not ask that the private sector should pump money into this area until the government gets it's act together or else it will end up going down the same hole it considering billions that have already been injected with practically nothing to show for it so far.
