My brother I really wonder why. I have a friend whose father happened to be a pastor. This my friend told me that there was a day his father threatened to kill him if he dared not go to church or express any form of disbelief in Christ.

Well, it's normal to be scared of what you do not understand. To some, their "idea" of God is the very foundation on which they base their life. They view all morality relative to his word/laws.

To tell one you do not accept this ''idea'' especially in a country where to be religious is the norm(like corruption) is to strike that very foundation. And most Nigerians really do not know what/who they worship. They've never put much thought into it, just like we do with almost everything else.

Just as their God is a jealous and vindictive one(for the Abrahamic religions), they begin to despise and hate everything about you.
