Family of the man who died in the chidi lloyd accident matter have come out to refute the police version of the events ... it was an accident they said and there where four persons in the car .... of which their brother died, while the 3 other persons are in hospital receiving treatment from injuries sustained ..... the accident happened at a police check point on the east west road around 10.30pm in the night .... the driver of the accident car was detained that same night at rumuji police station, close to scene of the incidence .. its on radio now ... 92.3 fm phc .. AIT AND CHANNEL NEWS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO INTERVIEW THOSE IN HOSPITAL ... THEY SAID THE POLICE SHOULD NOT BRING POLITICS INTO THEIR BROTHERS DEATH .... AND THE LATE MAN WAS NOT A POLITICIAN ....

More news to come as it breaks....

Rivers CP Mbu Detains Amaechi’s Plane, Snubs IGP Abubakar Over Auto Crash Involving Chidi Lloyd…Detains Assembly Leader

January 03, 2014

The almighty and power-drunken Rivers state police commissioner, Mbu Joseph Mbu bared his fangs on the state governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi again yesterday when he ordered that a chattered plane in Port Harcourt to take Amaechi to Abuja be grounded. After the plane was grounded on the CP’s order, he stormed the airport to search the plane. An attempt by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar to wade into the matter was also snubbed by Mbu.

The CP’s show of power followed the involvement of the leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd in an auto crash in which his vehicle driven by his driver, allegedly killed a Police Sergeant, Urang Obediah and one Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo, in the latter’s car along the East West road in Rumuji community, Emohua local government area of the state on December 30, 2013.

Obviously prompted to dramatise the accident, the CP in a press statement issued Thursday night by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Muhammad, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP), said the lawmaker, who represents Emohua Constituency in the Assembly, was arrested on his way to join Governor Chibuike Amaechi in his private jet at the Air Force base, Port Harcourt, to evade arrest.

According to the Police statement, Lloyd on December 30, 2013, while driving, knocked down the police sergeant. ”He rammed and killed him and went ahead to crush the Passat car of Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo, who was driving and killed him. Initially, the Police thought that it was a mere accident, which ought to have been a man slaughter. The Commissioner of Police directed ACP. Aliyu Garba, the Area Commander Metro to visit him in his hospital bed and commiserate with him. While being guarded by four police in his hospital bed, he sneaked out through the hospital’s back door in three tinted bullet proof jeeps and escaped”, the police statement narrated, adding that the lawmaker escaped from his hospital bed to join Amaechi at the airport so as to escape in the governor’s flight.

Governor has however disputed the CP’s account, saying that Mbu’s latest ploy to link him to an accident involving a lawmaker four days after was another attempt to hoodwink the public and discredit him.

According to the governor’s spokesman, David Iyofor, the police’s claim was “a completely distorted and untrue account of the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly. We emphatically state that; Governor Amaechi has no private plane or jet as claimed by the police and Hon. Lloyd was no where near the plane that took the governor from Port Harcourt to Abuja.

“The Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi was about to leave for Abuja when he was informed that the Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mbu Joseph Mbu, had ordered that the plane(which is not the governor’s private jet, as claimed by the police) cannot leave Port Harcourt because Hon. Lloyd was in the plane and about to ‘escape’ with Governor Amaechi.” He added that several calls put through to Mbu by Amaechi to find out why his flight was being stopped were unanswered by the CP

His words “CP Mbu later showed up and when the governor asked him, he denied giving such an order. He then went on and on, making a baseless, noisy argument that no one could comprehend. Governor Amaechi put it to him that he(Mbu) came to search the plane for Chidi Llyod and told him to go ahead and search the plane. Mbu continued talking endlessly, showing absolutely no respect or regard for the office of the Governor of Rivers State, who is the Chief Security Officer of the State.

“Governor Amaechi then called the Inspector-General(IG) of Police; while the governor was speaking with the IG on phone, CP Mbu was shouting at the governor, on top of his voice, trying to disrupt the conversation between the Governor and the IG to the shock and disbelief of those that were there. It was when Governor Amaechi arrived Abuja later in the evening of yesterday that he was informed that Hon Chidi Lloyd was arrested in his(Lloyd’s) house in the presence of his family and lawyer. And Hon. Lloyd’s lawyer, Emenike Ebete, had confirmed that he was arrested in his house. “

Lloyd was once in the Police net for attempted murder of his fellow lawmaker, Michael Chinda, during the fracas that erupted in the chamber of the House on July 9, 2013.

The deceased just gained admission into Uniport and was not any way involved with politics not to mention been a rival to Chidi Lloyd - Family of the deceased.

Chidi Lloyd was called by the police for his address and he gave them. He was arrested @ his home with his wife and kids present only for them to later claim he was arrested while trying to escape. Aide to Chidi will soon upload pix on fb of his arrest @ home.

Jonathenains and Wikerian are really desperate. SMH

It takes a great deal of fortitude to come out and set the records straight, at a time when most families would be overwhelmed by grief.

The police can never be trusted. They just wanted to rope Chidi Lyod into it. He never drove the car in the first place so why the arrest.

Mr. Man, you mean you can’t locate the link or you are just blind with sentiment that you can’t pinpoint the link to the reportage above? And perhaps I don’t have any other link to give you and if you are not satisfied with the link given, please do yourself a favour by go & die.

The rivers state police command are a bunch of fools!! They could'nt even't do their homework well before lying. Look at how the whole lie is crashing before everybody's eyes. Nigeria info has just interviewed the farmily of the deceased and they said their son was not a politician but a jambite. The police should come and tell us how a jambite is the political opponent of leader llyod. They should also tell us why they mentioned ameachi's name in all these when leader llyod was arrested at his home. It was so funny when all these info was filtering into nigeria info radio station and people kept calling in asking the police to come an clearify all their lies. They should come and explain how they who are suppose to protect nigerians is politicizing the death of a poor young nigerians. Rather than. Focusing squarely on the neglegence of mr llyod's driver and him. They choose to play politics. Let's see how they will dig out of this one. They've hung themselves.

My heart bleeds for my dear country. It is just too damn sadening what these politicians have turned our police force into. How can a police force so blatantly partisan ever be trusted to resolve any criminal case or forestall crime What this Rivers CP is doing completely runs afoul of the ethics of his profession. How does he even manage to close his eyes to sleep at night This is indeed an all time low for the Force!

Stop misinforming people please. Chidi Lloyd as we speak is presently trying to prove a case for a lesser charge of manslaughter and you are here misinforming the whole world that the incident never happened. U can only run run run, pass justice (Terry G) when u run mad smiley *in terry g's voice*
