You know, Spike. I like you. Really. I just wish you'd wear a helmet when you praise Affleck within iice's earshot. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by iice(f): 2:41pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Ewwww now that's a movie that didn't even deserve a razzie He only impressed me in boiler room. Thank goodness he was only on screen for like 10mins Hopefully he goes into a cave and remains there Damon on the other hand dey try. Danny yea is good at playing both sides. Kindda like Gary Oldman |

@Vesc, Sorry honey. I couldn't resist. Make una leave Affleck alone na! E kill persin? I prefer Day Lewis as a villian. So much more memorable. I can't deny he made my heart go trippity-trip in Last of the Mohicans, but I enjoy his villainy better. Spiked, all those divine uns are floating about, eye candy. But how many actors combine killer looks with genuine acting talent? Not many. Tom Cruise. DiCaprio. Depp. Damon has a killer smile. Man did I nurse a crush on that guy before Watanabe or what? James Marsden. Jude Law. And this guy was absolutely beautiful when he was younger-Alec Baldwin. Not many. So Seymour looks like an albino. There are worse-looking actors. iice, you have a thing for Giovanni Rabisi? Isn't he the one in the movie with Cate Blanchett, where she unintentionally kills some people, and he helps her escape and they take off into the air together? I think so. Can never remember the movie title. What's special about him? |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by iice(f): 2:53pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
High five Max I always said Judd Law was beautiful especially when he was younger. He's own was on a different level. Lately, he's been looking erhhh |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by vescucci(m): 2:58pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Not your fault Maxie. Especially when the buttons had "Press me" signs on them. Alec was fine. His brother William might be finer. I like their eyes. And no, I'm not queer. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by spikedcylinder: 3:04pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
vescucci: Eh eh eh eh! I wasn't really praising him na, and she seems to agree with me. iice: Gigli didn't impress you? Oh I am shocked!!! You should at least have been blown away with Jersy Girl. (by the way, is Liv still an actress?) Though, honestly speaking, Ben wasn't so awful in Goodwill hunting, Shakespear in Love and Pearl Harbour. Mad_Max: Name one. Steve Buscemi is odd looking but I like him so by virtue of my unfairness, exclude him. Jude Law looked sooooooooo yummy in Cold Mountain, he has oh so lovely eyes. I'm not sure of his acting though. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 3:11pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
William?!!!! Tell me it's not that cartoonish character who thinks he's so hot and acted in Fair Game, Dead's and,um,er, Silver? He is not in the same league as Alec Baldwin! If you want to see how striking Alec is, watch Prelude to a Kiss. I rewound the place where he had his shirt off so many times my brothers screamed blue murder. His iron filings chest hair. Ohhhh. Ohhhhhhhhh. Er. Daniel Baldwin. I generally steer clear of bad movies, unless some big name suckered me in. I saw Baldwin on EARTHSTORM and took a look. He he he. I almost died laughing from the special effects.Especially where the building collapsed. This movie is so bad it's unbelievable. Jude Law was frigging DIVINE in Cold Mountain. If you're not certain he can act, that movie tells you he can. That was the first time he actually convinced me he could. He was okay in Talented Mr Ripley too. But I thought Damon's performance was better. You cannot beat his tortured, agonised offing of the friend he'd fallen in love with at the end. I can never resist a man in tears. Why don't the creatures cry more?(sigh) 1.Buscemi 2. The short little guy in Jewels of the Nile. 3. Stiller There are so many ordinary-looking guys in Hollywood. I can't name em all. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by iice(f): 3:12pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Ewww @ Jersey girl too Yes she still acts not too much though. I hope she does more movies to improve her acting coz i like her. Hated Shakespeare in love. Only liked Judi Dench in that one. Hate hate Pearl Harbor. How could they kill Josh Hartnett? Goodwill Hunting is ok for me. Sorry but Ben has got to be the most overrated 'promising' actor ever. Jude is only good in particular roles. The heartbroken guy, the romantic guy trying to win someone and all that. John C. Reilly? Ok he's not so bad looking is he? |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 3:19pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Er,iice, Giovanni Rabisi? You were saying why you liked him? John C Reilly. I liked him. Until I saw him in that retarded Stepbrothers with Will Ferrel. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by vescucci(m): 3:22pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
I loved Goodwill Hunting. But it was entirely cuz of Robin and Matt. Casey shone through more than Ben. Though Ben was passable. Hardly memorable. Jude Law has his moments. Like in that war film. Where he was competing with one other german sniper or something like that. Great stuff. We do cry, Max. Only in secret. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 3:30pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Vesc! I meant in movies! In secret, ehn? Oh man you have polished me off with that one. Oh man. I know my sides are going to hurt today. There there, baby. Enemy at the Gates. With Ed Harris and Rachel Weitz. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by vescucci(m): 3:38pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
I take it these are the folks you admire, Bettes. I've totally forgotten the title of the thread. I was like, what? @Max, Enemy at the Gates. That's the one. With those two beauts too. Weisz and Harris. I think I'll compile a list |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by bettes(f): 3:47pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
vescucci: Yeap wasn't sure i was on the right thread either till i looked at at title. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 3:49pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Bettes you have to say WHY you like the ones you like. A list of what?Is Weitz still making movies? Haven't seen her in anything lately. Saw a very young Ed Harris yesterday in Stephen King's Creepshow. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by spikedcylinder: 3:58pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Max, I told you not to mention Buscemi! But wait, you think Hoffman is better looking than Stiller? Those your eyes eh. John C. Reilly!!!! His face looks like saki, Goodness forgive me. vescucci: This really had me rofl! We are still on point though, but we are way past the "merely listing" stage so bettes, you gotta come up with something better than that. Was Racheal Weisz the same lady in House Of Sand And Fog? |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by vescucci(m): 4:02pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
@Spike, I dunno @Max, I've never heard of that film and have never seen Harris not bald. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by spikedcylinder: 4:08pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Just checked IMDB, she's not the same person. That was Jennifer Connelly. They look shockingly similar to me though. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 4:17pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Creepshow is very very old. I bought a Classic Horror collection, and it includes everything, even the original Japanese The Ring movies. Ed Harris wasn't bald in it. He had a full head of hair. Looked to be in his late twenties or so. Anyway, something soon bashed his full head of hair in. Spiked leave poor Afin the hell alone. Oh man,if Buscemi were even half way goodlooking I would so have a crush on the guy, he is so insane. I don't like Reilly for his looks. But I liked him as an actor. Until Stepbrothers. Hmmm. Conelly and Weitz seem to have the same eyes. Weitz is better-looking though. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by spikedcylinder: 4:31pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Mad_Max: LOL! Not only is he albino looking, he's also fat. . . . in hollywood? He must have really deserved that oscar. I can's seem to differentiate both actresses, I know one won an oscar a few years ago, which was it? |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by iice(f): 4:43pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
I adore Giovanni Ribisi! He can be very intense. Yeah i didn't bother with that Ferrell movie. I don't find him funny anyway. Only liked him in that movie with Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 4:43pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
Ah. I wandered off to the Family section, where people fight over hypothetical posts. What would you do if you discovered your mother was a prostitute What would you if your husband said you must stay home home What would you if you woke up and discovered you'd grown another head It was Conelly. She won best supporting actress for her turn as Crowe's wife in A Beautiful Mind. The incredible performance in that movie was Crowe's. |

Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by spikedcylinder: 4:54pm On Dec 16, 2008 |
KarmaMod: Ah! Thank you o. My friends thought I was mad for liking that movie. Ben Kingsley was good in it. The Iraqi woman (Shoreh Agdashloo) was also in The Exorcism Of Emily Rose (and I think Crash too), she a very pretty woman sha, esp for her age. @ iice Ribisi, Ribisi, Ribisi. Thats all I ever hear from you these days woman! FRIENDS totally killed that guy as an actor for me. @ max, are you sure Weisz hasn't won one? because I think she won an Oscar about 3 years ago or so. Let me look it up. |
Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(f): 4:56pm On Dec 16, 2008 |

spikedcylinder: He was. Lol maybe the found it too depressing? Seriously very thought provoking. I loved it. Not that big a fan of Jennifer really. Her part in Blood Diamond was so unnecessary. |

Yes, Weisz won an Oscar in 2006 for Constant Gardner( I remember seeing her pregnant sef). KarmaMod: They just didn't seem to get it. But then again, these are people who think Steve Seagal is the best actor ever. Was Connelly in Blood Diamond? My memory fails. |
