A portable washer is a great and easy way for someone to get the benefits and conveniences of a washing machine without the space or the hassle.  The first benefit is that portable washers are much smaller than regular washers.  This means that they can fit into tight spaces where regular washers might not work.  Portable washers are meant to be moved easily around an apartment.  A portable washer can be kept in a closet until the moment that someone needs to use it, at which point it is brought out and attached to a water source. Very mobile piece of equipment. I take it along even when traveling. Very easy to teach kids laundry too.

Another benefit of a portable washer is that they can easily hook up to sinks.  With a regular washing machine, you would be required to have the proper hookups in your house or apartment.  Sometimes, especially when dealing with older buildings, these specific set ups aren’t available in an apartment.  Whether or not they have anything else, most people have a sink.  This means that they can easily attach a portable washer and get started on washing their own clothes.  It really is as simple as attaching the hoses to the sink faucet.

One of the most noticeable benefits of portable washers is that they are a lot cheaper than full size washers.  You can get a portable washer for the fraction of the price of another washer, which is really great when you are buying on a budget.  As an added bonus, purchasing a portable washer is going to help save you money in the long run as you will no longer be feeding quarters into public washing machines.

The only downside to getting a portable washer is that they can’t hold the same amount of clothing as a regular washer.

Owning a small, practical and portable washing machine could be quite a blessing sometimes. The truth is that even if you do have enough space to fit a normal sized washer, that doesn't mean it's the best solution. Yes, I am talking about water and detergent consumption and, off course, there is always the problem of what to do if you are on a long trip. Owning a portable washing machine means you won't have to squeeze in a visit to laundry man or pile up dirty clothes. And not just that!
- It Saves money
Portable washing machines are an ideal way to cut down on detergent usage and your electricity and water.
- Save space
These little devices will enable you to maximally utilize your limited space. Some models are incredibly small and can fit on your counter top. However, if you need a bigger one don't worry. Even that one will fit right under your sink, and you can take it out only when you need it.

- Are good for sensitive clothes
Some portable washing machines wash the clothes by making water pulsate through them. That means that clothes are not rotated like in the regular washing machines. This method is more gentle and therefore very good for sensitive clothes. Since the vibrations are not strong enough to break down regular detergent, usually liquid detergent is used and that is another benefit of these washers. Why? Well, liquid detergent rinses off better and doesn't leave that residue like regular detergents. All this will enable you to machine wash even very sensitive clothes without any concerns.

In response to a mail I got, I will highlight tips on how to maintain your portable washer after you have gotten one. Now, if in case you have already obtained the portable washer of your choice, it is important that you take good care of it. Use it properly and you would be able to use it for a very long time. In fact, with the utmost care, you can even continue using it even if it has already passed its expected lifetime. Check out the following tips on how to maintain your portable washer:

• Don’t overload your machine –

One probably reason why your machine might get damaged easily is if you overload it. Your machine should only be able to handle an adequate amount of wash load. Check in the machine manual how much maximum load your machine can deal with. Overloading your machine can definitely lead to its early damage. Weigh your laundry before feeding it into your machine.

• Don’t overwork your machine –

Another way to wreck your machine easily is to overwork it. Since the portable washing machine is small, it can only deal with a small load, and some people think that it is wise to do a series of loads continuously. If you are using a portable washer, it is important that you do not overwork your machine. Let it rest. Never wait for the end of the month until you decide to do all of your laundry with just one portable wshing machine.

• Unplug your machine –

It is wise to unplug your machine after using it. Just because it is turned off does not mean it is not consuming electricity anymore. Keeping it plugged in even if you are not using it can damage it because of the possibilities of power surges and abnormal spikes. It would not take much effort from you if you unplug your machine after use.

• Run a hot water cycle –

For maintenance, it is suggested that you run a hot water cycle at least once a week. Washing without clothes might sound crazy but this can be beneficial for you since it removes the molds in the machine as well as keep the machine interior smelling nice. You would not want mold on your clothes and you would not want them to smell bad, do you?

• Have it professionally inspected –

Portable washing machines, like the regular ones, also need to be inspected professionally. Inspection can lead to early damage detection and early damage detection can lead to timely repair or replacement. As they say, prevention is better than cure. Professional machine inspection can be done at least once every year.
