You remain irrelevant. There is nothing I see in you that suggest you will ever graduate. I shouldnt even dignify posts from you with response. Now scram from this thread.

Paupers always think they have an opinion! I blame the network providers for making internet connection cheap! Now you zoom off from this thread!

It has been said no one truly has anything against pharmD. But the few mths u spent peeping into wards doesnt give u any advantage over Bpharm and certainly doesnt guarranttee u the Dr title. U have been lied to. U like the title so much u even add it to your username in an anonymous forum. U should be ashamed. I am sure the doctors here are perfectly able to defend themselves. They dont need me.

U have no business in the wards. U should be stripped of your escort priviledges at ward rounds since u, a helper now want to be master. Doctors will have u chained to your cubicle while Bpharms do big things in the pharmaceutical world.

If u as a PharmD dare call yourself Dr to me I will have u stripped and shamed and no pharmacist is coming to ur rescue.

Last time I checked MBBS is Bachelor of medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, if the medical doctor can be called Doctor even though he has a bachelors degree then why shouldn't the Pharm D holders have a right to answer whatever they want to. I personally believe only PhD holders should be called doctors, that's my opinion and I won't force it down anybody's throat or insult anyone who chooses to be addressed as such. I have a Pharm D from the University of Benin and I can tell you that, that degree makes a lot of sense and all pharmacists should ensure that they at least upgrade their degrees to Pharm D. The course content is so rich and the knowledge you gain beats B Pharm anyday. little wonder that the high level drug companies in naija scramble for uniben products. During my internship, I was appalled by the B Pharm holders from other schools I worked with and felt sad that they themselves didn't even know their deficiencies. However at the end of the day the most important thing is improved provision of health care to the man on the street, if the Pharm D can equip the pharmacist with the skills to achieve that aim, then only a lunatic would complain about the fact that the Pharmacist bears the appellation of Dr

Pennywise: I have no wish to burst your bubble. But to all the aspiring pharmD and second rate intellectually bereft pharmacists on this thread who feel they are nothing without a doctor tag I am afraid u will forever remain nothing. U cannot be redeemed.

The NUC will have no choice but to do the right thing. The concession that was extracted in the dark has come to light and a lot of interested parties are going to weigh in this time.

Undergraduate PharmD is an abuse to the doctor tag. If u are a pharmacist who want to be called doctor, get a PHD or a post graduate pharmD. Everybody cannot be a doctor full stop.

A doctor tag cannot clean the rot and intellectual decay among so called pharmacists. The decay that has made them abandon what in other climes is a noble and respectable profession preferring to hire out certificates to illiterates for a fee so that drug stores may be called pharmacies.

I am unaware of any serious drug compounding company local or international that will depend on Nigerian pharmacists. They are brought from without.

Its a pity pharmacy no longer attract the best and brightest but only mediocres as I have seen on this thread. What a shame. Sadly you want to take that same mediocrity to a different profession when u are not fit enough to be pharmacists

A proffessor of pharmacy tries to remove the wool in their eye, but they believe he is doing that bc he doesnt want them to be called 'Dr'. An obvious result of low self esteem.

I just hope and pray that the crowd I have seen here is not a true reflection of today's pharmacists. Your language is poor and unbecoming, grammer is offensive and diction leaves much to be desired.

I wish you luck in your quest to be called doctors.

.

I noticed your serious hatred for Pharmacists na wa o, did you fail out of Pharmacy school? Uniben has been awarding B Pharm And Pharm D to its grauduates, the five year undergraduate course and the last year for conversion, unfortunately many of you do not know this and you keep exhibiting vocal diarrhoea. You claim not to be a pharmacist then why you carry our matter for head na? are you that jobless?

you mentioned that no drug companies rely on Nigerian pharmacists, how many of them do you know? There's no drug company in Nigeria today that depends on non nigerians for any aspect of their production, Swipha the only AFRICAN company with the most recent ISO certification has NO foreign production pharmacist. The funny part of your statement is that it is totally opposite of what really obtains in the real world.

joker5180: you guys seems to be confused. No nigerian university award " doctor of medicine" to any graduate, what they award is " bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery".
"Doctor of ........." like ' doctor of philosopy' is only awarded to postgraduate students who passed through PhD training.
Why are you introducing something that is not known in our university system?
The "Dr" used by MBBS graduates is a 'title' ( not a university certificate) awarded to them by their regulatory body.
If adding a 'title' to your name is the problem then get it from your regulatory body and while doing so do remember that DR is been patented by MBBS graduates.

the title "Dr" has been patented by MBBS graduates? Are you joking or do you regularly think with your anus?

So you did 'one year conversion' so that you can write prescriptions and kill people? You are a very dangerous man. You are a licensed murderer. How dare you say because you peeped in the wards for one year, you are better than responsible B pharm?

Now that the NUC has reversed itself, you had better hand in that certificate. What hunger and desperation will drive you to play 'doctor' with real human lives when you know that you are not truly qualified? And you have the temerity to come to a forum like this and show your self?

I bet you take deliveries and do abortions in your pharmacy too

Its a pity that the UBTH that I hold in such high esteem has to be the place accommodating this unholy act. I know a good number of well placed pharmacists who graduated from that school and they will be horrified about this ignominy that is being perpetrated there. One that Lagos, Ibadan, Ife, UNN, ABU and any other pharmacy school of repute in Nigeria has refused to subscribe to.

I strongly recommend a probe of the originator of this program, its finances and prison terms meted out as appropriate. All the so called graduates of this program should be sought and the fake certificates recovered beginning with dr ULOWANDI.

The NUC's "reversal" has nothing to do with already issued certificates, the funny thing about the whole Pharm D drama is that in 2007 when the NUC made its recommendation, Uniben obeyed the directive to the letter, nobody was given Pharm D straight but got the B Pharm And then PharmD. This year however the dean of the Faculty misguidedly issued only PharmD and that's the problem, the NUC has no problem with Pharm D degree but it has a problem with it as a first degree and if uniben returns to status quo then all the dust will settle

deols: If the NUC come up to say pharmacists can inculcate whatever makes the pharmD better into b.pharm without attaching a 'Dr' tag, you will easily see that the clamour isn't about the need to provide better services but the need to becalled doctors.

I dont blame Nigerian Doctors on this one. Who wants their profession stained by mediocrity and unthoughtfulness.

Am I the only one who noticed the uncouth ways of the so -called pharmacists on this forum. It is a big shame. The likes of you should not ever get close to OUR patients.

there is one bitter truth i have not reminded u,the primary point of call for patients is the pharmacy/ drug store. then the secondary is the hospital. the days where doctors are supreme is over, patients now even tell u the drugs they want and the form in which it wud work for them.am so sorry but if u entered the proffession for pride ,dont u think u need to reconsider and think twice.times are hard. the average Nigerian, wud walk into a drug store and describe heaven and earth to the person INCHARGE,and the patient gets well.while u sit in ur lofty chair, in ur starched weak tucked in shirts and trousers, perform 2 surgery a day and u get to share it with the landlord of the building and ur employees.
let me leave you with this foot note. we are the heart beat of the health sector and we know it. weda we attach doctor to our name or engr, gcfrn, oon,ceo ,call it wat ever name u wish.accord us the maximum respect if you need yours, thank you.

As is the common practice in our society, people are assuming that one person's aspiration has to be at the expense of other people.all these degrees are they not from the western countries? In the USA now, Pharm D is an ENTRY level degree for pharmacists. There is no longer any pharmacy school offering a bachelor of pharmacy degree in the USA. I should know because I am a pharmacist. It is very juvenile to stifle curriculum development in a profession to satisfy the over inflated egos of some.

Nigerians should do due diligence before commenting. What should I expect, even the NUC is not educated enough on how professions work in developed societies. For those egocentric doctors who think "dr" is their birthright, check the history of its use. It was not originally used for physicians but for PhDs. What are they going to do in America where there is O.D (optometrists), JD (lawyers), DNP (nursing) etc...refuse to work?

That is why the country has not made progress. Empty suits everywhere! Who in the world controls the evolution of another profession? It's only in Nigeria that it can happen. No profession controls the board of another profession and if lawyers want J.D they get it based on their curriculum. Is it not in the same Nigeria that all the illiterate buffoons ruling us have one title or the other before their name.

As the question wasn't directed at you, I have no business answering you. Go continue looking for vacancies, today might be your day

Job hunting has always been strange to me cos I never had a problem getting any since graduation. On the other hand your search for instant fortune and wealth will soon bring u to Mr Penny (the only reasonable thing called me by a garrulous biatch on this thread) cos U like sth huge and flashy. Not that PharmD is ever taking u beyond the front desk but u can enjoy the AC bf u go trudging in the blistering sun. I may open my cctv audio to hear them gossip your life, mute it when tired and then come back to NL.

Bpharm will open doors for you while PharmD will shut it in your face bc it means nothing more than a fraudulent title created to usurp without bringing any real value. Introduce your self as a pharmacist and not as a doctor sb.

And I hope the Uniben sponsors of this corrupt Nig variant are on this thread bc they cannot continue to defy common sense and logic. Nigerian educational system as it concerns the health sector has been respected worldwide. We cannot let people on account of greed, pride , ambition and whatever motive screw it up.

pennyfoolish, is that u. i made one worst mistake, which was to count you among those that are wise, seriously i regret it. successful doctors dont even have time to check who is using their tag to impersonate.the real big boys in ur proffession are busy making it and saving lives everyday and u are here looking for who has used Dr in their name. u are such a disgrace to ur immediate family, extended family and ur community that ever believed in you . such a collosal waste of funds and resources.A failed investment. am sorry but the truth must be said.
My candid advice is to look for a career counsellor and open up to him/her that u dont know where u are heading with this path u choose.its easy ,just make up ur mind. guess i have said my mind, pls if u wud excuse me i have patients to attend to.

Thank you for promoting me to the league of successful drs. Loooolz. U are a very intelligent boy. But you are not intelligent enough to know that as a rebel pharmacist, you have signed up to a life of servitude and frustration. Drs and senior pharmacists will sit and shiit on your head in govt and in private. With or without your certificate you will be expelled from an elite community of professionals. All of a sudden you are a vagabond with a worthless certificate called PharmD. And you feel nothing but shame each time someone call you dr bc in your mind you know PharmD is nothing but a tool of deception.

There must be order in the Nigerian health sector. Rascals like evanscheck seeking to offset this order will be actively sought by genuine doctors and pharmacists alike and taken down like a dog. That is your destiny to which you can now say Amen.

However at the end of the day the most important thing is improved provision of health care to the man on the street, if the Pharm D can equip the pharmacist with the skills to achieve that aim, then only a lunatic would complain about the fact that the Pharmacist bears the appellation of Dr
thanks bro
