How Do Our Politicians Get Intenational Awards? by Blesyn014(m): 1:17pm On Jul 03, 2014
I'm asking because I don't know the criteria they use. I just stumbled on a thread on how Aregbesola bagged an international award for promoting education in Nigeria and it doesn't connotes with what it is in the present Nigeria.
Hence, my question. Someone should Please educate me on it.

They're playing with Nigerian's underexposure. What is an international award? a ward from any country in the world except Nigeria? Is this an achievement? The same ease it takes to get a nigerian award, is the same ease it takes to get an 'international award'. There are hundreds of countries with millions of award issuing agencies all over the world and if your job is to seek them you will find them and award yourself with some nonsense trophy.

Its even sadder because most of these 'awards' have no baring or recognition outside of nigerian blogs. Argbesola's award was given to him by an individual. A yoruba man who, allegedly, forbes named as an activist. What does it mean to be named as an activist other than having someone call you activist? He then unilaterally gave APC the award so they can say he 'got an international award'. We have a very foolish political culture
