Nigeria Are We Heading For Cornocracy ? by Hardeydamola(m): 7:23am On Jul 05, 2014 |
The term ‘stomach infrastructure’ rose to prominence after the June 21st gubernatorial elections in Ekiti where former governor Ayo Fayose trumped incumbent Dr Kayode Fayemi. Pundits attributed Fayose’s success to his ability to identify with the grassroots and ‘satisfy the stomachs’ of the people. Beyond the bags of rice, photos of the former governor eating corn by the roadside also became famous. Perhaps signifying the beginning of a new type of governance – cornocracy – gubernatorial hopeful in Osun state Iyiola Omisore, has circulated, not one, but two photos of himself doing the corn thing. First it was two cobs of corn on the roadside. Greed perhaps? Then was popcorn in the market: Governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha, also has some ‘corny’ pictures: NIGERIA ARE WE HEADING FOR CORNOCRACY ? #justinquisitivenooffencemean

Nope, we heading for Riceocracy, "democracy of rice" cuz both party(PDP, APC) seems to be distributing rice to the masses to sell their votes. |
