APC Will Lose Lagos If... —stakeholders by Nobody: 2:59am On Jul 13, 2014
AN All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos State, Senator Ganiyu Solomon and a group have warned leaders of the party to desist from actions capable of making the party lose coming elections.

While Senator Solomon advocated free, fair and transparent primaries to pick candidates, the group, the New Lagos Movement (NLM) headed by Mr. Niyi Akinsiju, denounced the culture of imposition permeating the party.

The group, which is an elite body within the All Progressives Congress (APC), warned that the party may certainly lose Lagos State to the PDP in 2015 if it chose to introduce religion and zoning sentiments, among others, as promoted by its leadership to impose his anointed governorship candidate on members.

Specifically, the NLM boss, had in his address titled, ‘The Rough Road Ahead, ‘noted that former Governor Tinubu as one who is most guilty of the charge of imposition of his choice candidate on the party.

“It is very certain that we may lose Lagos in 2015 if we allow the discredited religious and zoning sentiments recently introduced by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu through which he intends to impose his anointed candidate on the members of the party,” the APC chieftain warned.

He, therefore, tasked the new leadership of party led by Chief Odigie Oyegun to urgently address the problems currently facing the party, “failure of which can destroy the party and spell doom for the democratic aspirations of millions of Nigerians.”

The state Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, in his reaction, declared that the party had no problem called imposition, maintaining that the APC had not yet decided on who its standard bearer for governorship poll should be.

He, therefore, urged party faithful to wait till a date for the primary exercise to pick a candidate for governorship would be held.

Stop sleeping on bike bro..... things are not the same anymore.
It hurts to spend cumulative 5 hrs in traffic daily and still pay 300 naira for it.
The triple taxation is evil. Have u been to ejigbo, okota etc lately? Those are also part of lagos. Why should LASU students be made to go through all the pains they've been thru. Why wud one person have 30 percent of all the choice properties in lagos? A man's wife, daughter, sons-in-law all imposed on lagosians. And plans have been concluded to impose the next governor on us.
PDP needs very little campaign in lagos. They only need the right candidate and sufficient security during the elections and APC will be history in lagos.

Abegi who's Jimi Agbage? In the lagos of today, he'll come a DISTANT third. No one has time for the Fashola types anymore in Lagos. You present Jimi and the others will defect to PDP. So of what use Jimi?

Interestingly, PDP would be presenting Jimi Agbaje! And that's the joker here! APC is going to lose Lagos because Tinubu absolute focus is the protection of his stolen assets, he needs someone he can completely trust and control and the topmost two on his mind are his wife, Remi and his accountant, Ambode.

Even if Tinubu presented a goat, victory is assured! At least, Nobody wants a killer party in a cosmopolitan state like Lagos!

When, the ever-conquering-jagaban presented the widely acclaimed Achiever in the person of Fashola, you lots said more than these, but what happened? The will of the people prevailed!

Last Bullet: 2015 is never going to be like Ekiti State- Everybody would be fighting for his head! Jonathan will be fighting for his life, 36 governors, would be doing the same, all in a single day! The police and army won't just be enough to go round the states. It will be all men to your tents! grin

The spell of Tinubu on the SW and Lagos in particular is wearing away.

Lagos state is not Tinubu's family property and Lagosians are realising that.

PDP is positioned to sweep the poles if they present a credible enough candidate to run against Tinubu's stooge.

My friend for Lagos PDP to win Lagos they need to get rid of Mr. Olabode George and Ogunlewe.
See those men on a campaign is enough for PDP to lose. funny eÑough George controls the party machinery!
Even Agbaje can't §ell with PDP. As for Ganiyu Solomon, he's insincere as he was/is a product of imposition in 2007 Ànd 2011. Agbaje shd consider labour though its no guarantee

Presenting Jimi will mean trouble for PDP Lagos. Who knows him there? Even in APC, Jimi cannot be there as there will be a MASSIVE movement to PDP. In PDP, who knows Jimi? He is of no value politically. The Grassroot sees a "Fashola" in Jimi and will not vote.

In Lagos, everyone just want anything apart from APC.

Interesting argument. However, I don't think the grassroots necessarily see Jimi Agbaje as an elitist like the pompous peacock called Fashola, although I reckon Agbaje's refined and sophisticated mien might be misinterpreted by some as a sign of aloofness. He certainly does not fit into the Fayose political mould, but then . . . .

Who, in present-day Lagos PDP, do you consider the perfect gubernatorial candidate?

Jimi in PDP or APC as "Gubernatorial candidate" (emphasizes on " as Gubernatorial candidate"wink will spell doom for both parties. If he goes to PDP and he is chosen as a candidate, people will decamp atomatically, only Bode George will be left. I mean, how can they be working just so one man will come and eat all their sweat. As the APC, the same. People like Senator GOS, Hamzat, Banire etc will leave.

Jimi needs to work from the ground up and not just sit somewhere for people to cook and when food is ready, gbam, he'll simply come and eat.

Also,
Grassroot still see Jimi and Fashola as "same ni". In the sense that all these "fine English" and certificates means he will be like Fashola if given the chance. Jimi in PDP will be Great for both Jimi and PDP. The only way for Jimi is to meet ALL the stakeholders in PDP and both should reach a compromise.

HE NEEDS TO START WORKING NOW WITH PDP, NOT WHEN FOOD IS READY.

OK. Let us assume, for one moment, that Jimi Agbaje is out of the question. Who should the PDP field as its candidate? Obanikoro? I can't readily think of any other prominent prospect at this point. I suspect Ganiyu Solomon would decamp from the APC at some point, but I doubt the Lagos PDP would be willing to give him the party's ticket.

Not that it matters though. . .ANY PDP candidate would win the election by a landslide. The Lagos masses are simply fed up with the elitist Fashola and everything he represents (including his party).

Forget Obanikoro. God Forbid. If they pick Obanikoro, they have just handed Tinu-ole another 8 years. There is nothing wrong with Dr Ade Dosunmu. He is from Isale Eko, well educated but too soft spoken, he needs to voice up. But Jimi needs to come to PDP, there is something for him there. They need someone like him in their camp.
Re: APC Will Lose Lagos If... —stakeholders by ola6: 10:18am On Jul 15, 2014
But the truth is any PDP candidate except Obanikoro will and MUST win Lagos from Tinu-ole.
