Customizing your vehicle: Yes or No? Adding a body kit or exhaust system can personalize a vehicle, but will consequently reduce the pool of buyers interested in purchasing it when you’re ready to move on. Even worse, aftermarket modifications and accessories can interfere with a car’s warranty. Above all, car owners concerned with retaining value should steer clear of add-ons that alter power train or safety equipment.

In today's cars, we are seeing keys that have capabilities beyond their owner's knowledge. Microprocessor technology has taken the simple car key and made it into a mobile database. Keys now carry user information such as radio station presets, HVAC settings, rear-view mirror and seat positions, service mileage, and date of your last dealer visit. If you ever come across an old key belonging to a vehicle that was once in the family, stop and consider that the automotive ignition is no longer what it used to be. The whole transition has taken place right before our eyes, with changes so subtle that only after long consideration will one realize just how much they really have changed. Old car keys used to be stamped by the thousands and then notched in a certain way to interact with the tumblers in the key cylinder. The doors also required a key to lock and unlock the latch. That was pretty much it for anti-theft and security.

Energy Saving Tips for you today! 1) Keep your car tires properly inflated. Tires that are under-inflated reduce performance and require more gas. Keep them properly inflated to increase your gas mileage. 2) Plan your trips. Combine your errands into a single outing so you can avoid making multiple round trips. 3) Maintain your vehicle. Changing your oil and replacing the oil filter will improve fuel economy, and keeping your car well-tuned will help you save about 10 percent more gasoline. 4) Avoid lengthy idling. If you have to stop somewhere for more than one minute it’s more efficient to turn off the engine rather than letting it idle. 5) Lighten your load. Hauling heavy items reduces fuel economy. If you don’t need to take a heavy object with you on a trip, leave it at home. Source: http://www.gracelinks.org/3184/energy-saving-tips-for-car-owners

Some Don'ts for Tire Buyers DON'T spend too little on your tires. Cheap, poorly-designed tires can make for longer stopping distances and less control in an emergency maneuver. All tires have traction ratings (AA, A, B or C) stamped right on the tire itself -- buy tires with an A or AA rating. DON'T spend too much on your tires. As with most things, a name brand on a tire costs more. Well-known name brands do tend to provide a consistently high level of quality, but there are lesser-known tire manufacturers that produce excellent products at lower prices. |

How to Get Rid of a Junk Car? First, research and Know the Market Value of Your Car It is extremely helpful to know the Kelley Blue Book value of your car, even though it is damaged. This will help you to evaluate the junkyard’s offer to you. Prices follow no set market rules. Each offer always depends on the condition of your car parts and the owner of the junk yard. Two junk yards in the same town could make separate offers, and one could offer twice as much as the other. It benefits every car owner to shop around. How To Sell Your Luxury Car If you are working on selling your first luxury car, whether it’s a #BMW or a #Maserati, the most important thing to remember is that it is worth the money you are asking. Often times people will discount the price when selling luxury items because they personally have a hard time believing that the item is worth that much.Make sure you convey that in everything that you do related to selling the car. If you choose to put it up for sale online and be sure to take good quality pictures.

When heat drives you to distraction, the last thing you need is a malfunctioning air #conditioning (A/C) system when you’re on the road. Checking the A/C once a year is key to making sure your #cooling system is running efficiently all year long. A properly running #HVAC system will help improve your #gas mileage, is more environmentally-friendly and will keep you calm as you #drive on

Get Rid of Tough Stains with Ease It happens to even the most careful drivers once in a while. You’re in a rush to get to the office, so you decide to drink your morning coffee on the way. Add speed and a little distraction to the mix because you’re worried about making it to that morning meeting on time and you have the perfect recipe for stains. Keep a few simple household items at the ready in your trunk and you’ll be well prepared the next time it happens. For Leather Seats: After sopping up the worst of the spill with a few paper towels, dampen a soft towel with water plus a drop of laundry detergent. Gently clean the stain working from the outside in. For Upholstery: Spray the stain with a special mix of two parts water to one part white vinegar. Blot with a paper towel. Repeat until the stain is lifted away. You can also make short work of oil or gasoline stains that migrate onto your car’s floors on your shoes using a little laundry detergent.

Pets Auto Safety In 2013, the nonprofit organization, the Center for Pet Safety (CPS), tested a number of dog car harness brands. The brand they found to be the safest was the ClickIt brand. The AllSafe brand was not far behind. There was only one issue that kept it from ranking the best. The tether allowed the dog to launch off the seat in the crash test simulation.
