Delta state Governor, Doctor Emmanuel Udughan has said his government would not slack in the area of youth empowerment through it’s Delta Beyond Oil programmes as more facilities and infrastructures will be put in place to actualize the challenge. Speaking at the commissioning of the newly constructed Olympic size swimming pool at the Warri City stadium, the governor explained that the Delta Beyond Oil programme was designed to ensure private sector driven economic sector and reduce unemployment to the barest minimum. According to him the scheme has started offering job opportunities to young graduates and entrepreneurs in the state and in the future it guarantees sustainable means of livelihood and addresses the challenge of restiveness among the youths in the state. Meanwhile the swimming pool was used to host the sixth edition of the Chief of Naval Staff Open swimming championship. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/uduaghan-commissions-swimming-pool-warri/ 1 Like |

The guy seems to be waking up after over seven years as governor. He came up with an initiative like that; "Delta without oil". Sounds reasonable, but coming up with such when he has not up to a year in office.... Too bad, he's likely going to be handing over to another clueless person just like himself within his party in 2015. 9 Likes |

Don't be surprise to hear he has a share out of the total generated revenue from that pool, that is; if he his not the owner, check his opening again, you will get what am saying. Until we stop this ourselves, embezzlement will continue in this country 3 Likes |

If funds meant for local councils were being remitted to them without our 'thieving' govs using it all in the name of "joint accounts",councillors nationwide should be commissioning swimming pools and not even chairmen let along DELTA STATE whose current budget is 3 times that of KADUNA STATE. |
