That's not true.. Ekwueme gave 1 million Naira to NPN in 1970s.. Putting that number in context, Dangote started with N500K loan from his uncle in 1970s.. Critics charged that Ekwueme bought his VP ticket as the highest bidder. He started one of the few indigenous architectural and urban planning firms in Naija that got govt and corporate contracts. Also well educated with US and UK degrees.. Did he enrich himself while in office,yes..but not better than Shagari who surrounded himself with smarter crooks who used him-Shagari to gain inordinate wealth.. They later turned him in when he was overthrown..
