From what i have observed, most Females go for jobs that can pay their Monthly bills while the Males want to hammer at all costs. They are the ones that will tell you that they cant start with a job of 40-60k Monthly they will rather wait for a job of 150-300k Monthly. The Ladies on the other hand wouldnt mind starting with less as long as it will pay all their bills at the end of the Month. From this, i think it is the reason some men stay unemployed than the women.


Who needs employment most?

Dont really know about singles, but for the married, the men suffer more. What excuse can a man give for not taking care of his responsibilities, especially feeding and housing his family? As a woman, I can hide under the fact that I just got married, I just gave birth, I am pregnant, My husband doesnt want me to work, I want to take care of my kids, I am being sexually harassed at work, etc.

It is definitely the males that need job most. This is because the females have so many better options including being dependent on men either as girlfriends or wives. Also ladies can go into prostitution which is relatively less harmful to the society than other vices which the menfolk take to as a means of survival e.g. Armed robbery, kidnapping, insurgency, internet scam etc, as the Nigerian society is not conducive for male prostitution. So, in a nutshell, males should be considered for a job more than females, however in jobs that require more expertise and intelligence, merit should be strictly followed.
