oboman: People that make mere conjectures like '' the virus has been designed to control Africa's population'' are comedians....

If they decide to nuke the whole of Africa, nothing go happen.... grin grin grin grin

Most of the drugs we use today are made in their labs as we are too busy clinging to religion and frivolities.... grin grin grin

We are all here today thanks to a form of drug that was designed years ago in countries of these people that want to reduce our population... undecided undecided undecided

Until we start replacing churches and mosques with schools and laboratories, then it would be hard to verify those claims on our own.....

Mr A is alleging Mr B wants to kill him but Mr A can't do a damn thing about it because he relies on Mr B's water. Until Mr A digs his own well, he should shut up...

The bold would not work cause morality tag that will arise; aside that, you forget that there are black people elsewhere who may take up arm against such clear evidence of injustice.

Bio-weapon is a better way to eliminate a group of people; than nuke cause it left no trace for implication; apart from weather modification weapons nothing rivals it yet!

I have been thinking along this line too.....or how come Mr. Sawyer, a Liberian American was able to sneak through the international airport without being detected?

Another question is 'for what purpose did he visit Nigeria'? Someone said he may have come to see his Doctor at First Foundation Specialist Hospital but my submission is 'why did he not fly back to the US where his nuclear family reside and where he could have access to better medical treatment'?

I smell a rat!

coolzeal: Monkeys or primates have being existing for millennium and no deadly virus outbreak. Sometimes, I wonder if Ebola virus is another research gone wrong or perhaps We are use for scientific experiment. You have to be careful of what you believe.

Nonsense. All primates suffer from disease outbreaks. You just don't see it because you aren't living among them. In addition, repeated exposure to a pathogen will eventually create widespread immunity in that population, which may explain why monkeys might not be affected by Ebola.

Ebola is not a 'new' disease. It has lurked in the forest for centuries; however, with humans being much more mobile than they were even 50 years ago, a disease which used to be confined to a very local area can now spread very quickly.

Stop seeing conspiracies everywhere. If you have proof, show it. If the west were determined to wipe out Africans, it would already have been done, without the need to develop viruses that could spread to white people as well.

I pity the dumb negroes here attacking these villagers and their belief, no wonder Africans made good slaves to the white man. Always believing massa can never have any bad intention towards them, i believe these latest outbreak is a bio weapon being tested on Africans, are we the only continent with monkeys or bats?
Same way the UN went to cause the cholera outbreak in Haiti that killed thousands of Haitians and accuse the Haitians of being paranoid when they were attacking UN personalls, which later turn out to be justified. Bunch of coon ass, white butt lickers on this thread.

Aids,SARS,Bird Flu, and now Ebola suddenly sprung up after our contact with the West..and its suspicious that their outbreaks seem to occur in mostly Third-World countries...I don't blame the villagers for their mistrust...Westerners are very mischievous..read this article. This is not only about ignorance but a sign of their action of false information about outsiders who are willing to help. The case could be worse in Nigeria as most people are good in CONSPIRACY THEORIES. I feel sad for their silliness. It is also very nauseating!

The villagers might have a point though.

The disease is incurable so what are these medics doing other than spreading the disease?

Not all Red cross drs are on the same mission. That's something for the conspiracy theorist to think about.

Eleyi gidi gan. FYI Ebola exists among primates, sometimes wiping out whole populations, and crossing over to humans who eat infected animals.

Those having it are stigmatized and not well handled in African villages by their community people due to lack of education and materials, those are some of the reasons why it is spreading like wild fire. The medical personnel can help with good care and provide instructions on better ways to prevent the disease from spreading.

Your statement proves you are another supporter of myopic approach to fighting this deadly Ebola in West Africa. Stop being sentimental about it. That is not going to prevent the disease from spreading but going to make it worse.

I dont like this reasoning from a Nigerian in the 21st century. Anyway, this is Africa!!!

You dont need to attack his reasoning my friend. If what we see in the movies is true, there is a possibility that its a research gone wrong or what other school of thought believe is the cause. Each man is entitled to his opinion until the origin of this virus can be established.

Folding my arms and waiting till when the vaccine will be announced.

That is one of the reasons why you have to read up on the disease and its origin. The origin is clearly from animals. It is very contagious.

The first reported case happened in the Congo of a man who bought bush animal in the local market for food during the 70s or thereabout. It is not a new disease to the continent. Read up or admit you are not knowledgeable on the matter.

How many people died during the said first outbreak? And why does virus suddenly becomes global issue; or you saying all this while no else had consumed monkey meat?

Read up again! The reason why it is spreading like wild fire in west Africa is the ignorance and myopic views of the locals. Imagine trying to prevent health workers from coming to help the sick in the community and how much devastating effect it will have on neighboring places.

The monkey may have killed those who eat it in the remote areas or still, not contaminated.

In the Congo, a lot of people died including foreign health workers, most especially, the missionaries.

Kx: HIV AIDS was not achieving the desired goal;
hence Ebola was unleashed to cut AIDS 10year waiting period to Ebola's 21days.
Call it ignorance, babaric, backwardness or whaever!, ever wondered why all these diseases, origin and or predominance, have something to do with and in Africa?

What is this one saying. Ebola has been around since 1976. shocked
You wondering why the disease has something to do with Africa? If you don't know the answer to your own question, then that right there is the muuurderrrfaaackn problem. Ever wondered why malaria is prevalent in Africa?
Do people in the western world eat the type of "bush meat" that we eat? Do they have the poor hygiene record that we have in Africa?
Ebola is real. End of discussion

Ignorance. See as una dey display una lack of education. After una go talk say una go school. Return your diploma juh.
The world is global now son. People travel more. Diseases that were localized are no longer restricted to remote areas because infected people tend to travel more nowadays. Airplanes, trains etc have made it easier.
Diseases used to WIPE OUT tribes in ancient times and never spread beyond the tribes because TRAVEL wasn't as efficient as it is today.
Back in the days, they used to claim the gods were angry. Meanwhile it's diseases like ebola, hiv etc that have been wiping out tribes since 600 AD. shocked

Not monkey but Ebola. A disease that is very contagious through contact. It originated from animals not only found in monkeys. You are advised to stop consuming bush meat all together for good preventive method.
