Bruv, if you see how these folks survive in New York, you'll actually weep for humanity. Gun and poverty ridden projects, and you can't even stay there without hearing gun shots or news about people getting shot. Then you've got crackheads everywhere. And New York is dirty as fvck with giant rats running amok - coupled with the stone age transport system. Some actually pay their life savings to survive in little boxes. The whole place is a 3rd world slum, apart from Manhattan.

The last time I went, I was at some naij barbers in BK with my cousins - you need to see these folks. grin Most of them look like they never left 3rd world slums.

The biitch ar.se nyggah has never even on an aeroplane in his life...I told him to post pictures, but he posted the sky view of Manhattan lol. That's like me posting Canary Wharf as what London is. grin

Loool hard life, that's what they call 3rd world in a 1st world. If you notice, products of such environments all seem to talk and act the same, including the females. Only a few are able to emancipate themselves and take their folks out of those slums.

The violence and gun crime makes it a lethal combination, complete No No for me. You could send your son to grab some stuff down the road, and a phone call could come in at anytime informing you he's been gunned down by some drive by. I can't live there.

The rich just isolate themselves in the developed areas and allow the rest to kill each other.

The Kobonaire guy lives in a place worse than the slums of NY, he's is disease ridden type of slum, the ones with open sewage, stray rabbies infested dogs, refuse dumps..

We can remember the 2011 economic inequality protests where most of the blacks were stealing sachets of rice from mini-mat, etc! It's a contrasting evidence of the reality of poverty among the black communities in the USA.

That was the same reason why I escaped from Peckham when it was obvious that I was caught up in that lifestyle, straight out of College for Uni in Birmingham, and I've not returned there since then - apart from my family that still live there. And all my childhood friends. I still go there from time to time, but the crab in a barrel mentality isn't for me at this stage of my life. South London was like that from 2002-2007, with 2006-2007 as the peak period. Trident arm of the Metropolitan police for black on black crime was created for the madness back then, with undercover feds everywhere to curb the violence. That's how 1st world countries are meant to be. However, New York and America are a different kettle of fish - violent killings are synonymous with these folks.

And these folks shout big apple everywhere - more like big deaths with dirt poor folks and project houses everywhere. If those from there are actually dirt poor, now imagine how the immigrants live. Yet the US government goes around the world trying to be world police with bombs, when US of A is a war zone, with so many deaths induced by gun violence everywhere. Just check the murder rate in all the cities in that country, and cry for humanity. The prisons are also full to the brim with people. Scandalous folks.

You boy took it there.

I told him to stay on the topic several times...and my arguments from the onset were straight-forward.

America's double-standard and the fight for inconsequential Ukraine, that might end up throwing Europe into another recession. If EU isn't involved in this mess, then I would have avoided the thread. But no one can afford another recession, with massive government cuts because of America and Ukraine.

And my first post was about the two countries taking their sabre rattling to Alaska and Siberia where they both share borders, and leave the rest of the world alone.

Russia's democracy is a sham as long as having Putin to stay in power for almost in a lifetime.

For a country that started having elections in 1991 and founded as far back as the 13th century,
Democracy will take at least 3-5 decades before it is fully integrated in a place like Russia. Even western democracies had their initial drawbacks like having some particular people or class ineligible to vote etc.
Being fully democratic didn't pay off the the Yelstin era. it lead to many nationalistic/Separatist movements that almost fragmented the country and plunder from the oligarchs.

one of Russia's intellectuals sergey Karaganov said they actually warned their western counterparts about the implications of trying to rush and support too much western style movements and institutions in the mid 90s because they taught it would cause instability and the country had too much problems to deal with at that time. but they weren't listened to. and to use his words, he said "we had to use the iron fist"

there are too many things on the agenda, like stability, law and order, security in the far east and west needs to be achieved before full democracy can be implemented. The country has always been held together by force because the areas that grantees its security always rebel.
And security is important for people who have lived for thousands of years repealing invasions.
Its a slow process and location and history always determines the actions and inactions of most countries

As for South Ossetia that can be true due to the fact Russia controls most of their economic activities and it is a very small place but the opposite can be said about Ukraine. Other than gas supply and some other economic trades Kiev doesn't want Moscow to intervene in their internal affairs. Putin plays down on their sovereignty by using gas supply to take control of the government and cause troubles in the country is something that is not good for the people.

The most annoying thing about Putin is that he formed the same Oligarchy he detest to enrich himself while he imprisoned and chased out many of the old Oligarchs.

Lool Peckham is one tough neighbourhood, even now when I go around that area, the place looks like a typical Nigerian town. I haven't been to everywhere in Peckham, but from what I've observed, that place is one of the most diverse places in London. I see the most amount to mixed race people there, different races, different cultures, the place looks interesting.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity of experiencing many parts of London, Enfield, Northolt, Ealing, Lewisham, Hither green, Erith, Bermondsey, Welling and Eltham. So far, Eltham (too many racists) and Lewisham has to be the toughest I've experienced.

At this stage in my life, I'm a coward. If I see trouble one way, I'm running the other way.

If I actually want to lead a revolution in naija and become the president or at least carve out part of the country for myself to rule, it won't cost me anything. I just don't have time for the country.

Putin is the best thing to happen to Russia, and I'm happy for them as long as the people who're stakeholders in the country are happy.

Once you look at the naija military, its strengths and weakness - and analyse sympathetic axis in the country with resources you can loot to fund a long guerrila warfare, you won't take the country seriously. grin

Just look at how Boko Haram stays whooping their ar.ses everywhere. They just lied that they captured Gamboa, the same Gamboa that the SITREP in Borno said is still under BH control, apart from the major motorways on the outskirt. grin

Peckham isn't even as black as most people think...Nigerians are just loud, hence it's easy to notice them. Even in my estate growing up, when Peckham was proper Little Lagos - on my block there were just 5 naija families out of the over 50 flats there. We also had Caribbeans, Ghanaians, and Sierra Leoneans. And now with the gentrification all over South London, the number has reduced. There are a lot of Latinos(especially Brazilians) and black Portugese now. I swear they have got their own little Latino gang. grin Woolwich, Thamesmead, Barking etc. are blacker than Peckham - and I'd wager that those places have more Nigerians. Peckham is live - but it comes with the innate hype that goes everywhere with people from there. When you meet someone from Peckham, you'll know - Peckham dons just want to show you that they're the hardest out. grin

Bwooii, my first year in uni was crazy. I was fresh out of Peckham - and everyone could tell. Just more hyped and crazier than everyone else from London. But over the years, I've calmed down a lot - so calm now that I rarely talk. I just watch people and do my own thing. Also, staying out of trouble as well.

Lewisham is like Peckham as well, it's just more mixed...with a lot of other Africans(Zim, Kenya, Cameroon, Congo etc.) you won't find in Peckham. Enfield and North London have more Caribbeans and Ghanaians than Nigerians. Enfield used to be proper white, but it's getting blacker by day, with more black people moving there. It's a nice area though - I've got cousins there. Bermondsey is partly Peckham - but with mad racist Millwall fans. Back in the day, if you're black, you've to stay away from there at night - else you might get stabbed or beat up by racist white yobs. Erith used to be mad racist as well(I've got a mad story about this place on how we were chased in the car by racist white yobs in 2006 - we just kept throwing bottles till we smashed their windscreen on the dual carriage way lol). Eltham, Welling, and the rest are white - but Eltham and Welling are EDL bases. Ealing is Asian.

Lmao...in London, regardless, you have to always stand your ground. Once you know the street codes. But don't ever let them catch you slipping.

The stubborn ones like Khodorkovsky tried to fight back with their money by sponsoring "democratic institutions" and got burned.

Thanks, brother. We're all here to learn, and I do learn from different folks from time to time. I saw a few things Missy89 posted a few days ago that I learned from. Truly, I think the brouhaha between NATO (with America as the chief) and Russia will definitely be a bad end for the NATO. I understand that the USA wants to maintain financial and political hegemony in the world. And Just like Putin said in his 2007 Munich speech I don't think a UNIPOLAR world is possible today.

No matter how hard America tries - the rising of countries from east Europe and East Asia is absolutely inevitable. My only concern is where Africa stands in all these... And that's why I get screwed up when some Nigerians try to suckle up the west or even Russia. We should find our identity and follow it. For me I think a multipolarised world would be of immense benefit to Africa and that's if we are able to play by the rules. Having a single country; weather Russia, America or China dictate to the rest of the world, for me is monopolistic and I liken it to the same scornful communism that the west is against.

I thinks what's happening now is Gods design to bring Africa to the fore... If only we can grab these opportunities. Word! Western sanctions can Never bring down Russia without first harming Europe.

Shydon: Who says the US cannot be dared! That's what the Russians are doing. Infact, it is high time the world witness the emergence of a different Super Power country; America has had enough just like the Great Britain in the 17th to the early 19th century. Their down fall is long overdue.

Evidently, the quest would be between China and Russia. But they must collaborate and seek strong alliance. Strong alliances have always prove to be the determinant of who is gonna be victor in intl warfare.

While you guys are getting hard-on because Russian was flying on international airspace, close to US border; where all comers like Nigeria can even fly to, if only we have capable jets...The US have successfully breached and performed reconnaissance inside Russian Airways and Waters; the Russians where able to detect one or two of these diversionary reconnaissance mission and took the bait in chasing them while the real intelligence gathering was taking place through other missions over Russian Airways and waterways.

The US Destroyer Truxtun has arrived on the Black Sea with about 300 sailor at Russian's backyard...

12 F-16 fighters and 300 US personnel has been sent to Poland for training in response to the crises in Ukraine.

5 US F-15 fighters and a KC-130 arrived in Lithuania recently for a training exercise.

My point is, Russian is surrounded by US war machine, men, artillery and power....any slight provocation, the US will descend on them from all directions, in this war spend is of the essence.

Off course, the US know the war capabilities of Russian and they are not understanding Russian in any sense, but Putin is well versed and not a fool to take on the US war machine, because he knows that, when the durst settled, though the US will suffer some destruction and casualties, it will be Russian that will be sent back to the stone age.

Yes, Lewisham has the best chics in South London by far! I went to Orpington College, then transferred to Lewisham College after my first year due to distance and the racist mofos in Kent. I also worked inside the Lewisham shopping centre for a few months in College - and the chics are out of this world. It's probably because it connects so many places - and Catford is just down the road. And you've got Sydenham as well. Nice chics - I miss those days, trust me. Linkageeeeeeeeesssssss! grin Plumstead and Thamesmead chics are also nice esp. Plumstead.

But Peckham is still the capital of Nigerians in London - no matter where you live, you just have to come there. grin Dalston is the other place. And Peckham isn't even that ghetto - East London and North London(maybe Deptford, Lambeth, and part of Lewisham borough) have all the biggest council flats and high rise buildings in London. Only Walworth in Southwark has something similar with Aylesbury - and that isn't Peckham proper.

Lmao @ your uncle supporting Millwall...it's fun for football, but those fvckers out there are racist as fvck. And where your uncle lives is like proper deep into their den. The new buildings there close to Old Kent road are nice. But once you start going proper deep where they've got estates, that's the white yobs' territory. The whole place is calm now and not as racist as it used to be - but we used to fight with them back in the day.

I never knew Erith was racist till we got chased in the car...it was proper early morning. They stopped following us along the road through Thamesmead that leads to Woolwich and where Greenwich College is. I know there was a naij/African gang(T-block boys) in Thamesmead/Abbeywood axis during college that used to get into it with those racist bastards from Kent. Erith, Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Slade Green, Orpington etc.. College days there.

Yes, you just have to be yourself. Once they look at you, and from the way you're and mannerism(even when you dress smart) - they will know if you're a thorough-bred or not. I've lived everywhere in the last 7 years since I left Peckham. I used to go to some of the worst places in Birmingham, North London, and East London at any time of the day, even at night - and no one has moved to me. Some say: "wag1" or "U kl?" - and the highest is that they talk to me for a bit, and once I tell them I from South London, some do famzing for a bit, and the rest just say, "safe" and keep it moving.
