AN OPEN LETTER TO THE WIFE OF LATE PATRICK SAWYER.
(A Liberian-American who import Ebola disease into Nigeria)

Dear Madam,

I write this letter out of anger in response to your facebook page update where you wrote nonsense in defense to your husband's action for spreading Ebola disease in Nigeria.

The truth still remains that Mr. Sawyer INTENTIONALLY imported EBOLA DISEASE into Nigeria, or he were given CONTRACT to do so. The assertion that he believes in Nigerians Health care system is laughable & ridiculous! If Mr. Sawyer listens to news-especially as it concerns Nigeria- he would have known that prior to his coming, almost all public hospitals including Teaching hospitals (Doctors & health workers) were CLOSED OR SHUT DOWN due to strike actions embarked upon by workers. He would have also known that only the poor attends hospitals in Nigeria while their "well to do & political elites" seek medical treatment - including mere headaches & check ups abroad; he would have also known that due to unavailability, obselate & poor medical equipment/renumeration were some factors that led to these strikes. Why didn't he travel abroad where they have excellent & qualitative medical care? Why Nigeria? Who was Mr. Sawyer expecting to attend to him? Or is he referring to Traditional medicines? No matter your defense, Sawyers action is totally unacceptable, babbaric, condemnable, hypocritical & purposeful.

Reports of events before he travelled to Nigeria and soon after his death have shown that top Liberian government officials were aware of his trip to Nigeria and appeared to have done nothing to stop him, afterall the index had been put on surveillance by the Liberian Ministry of Health, how on earth did he escape quarantine or was he intentionally let on loose? actions of some Liberian officials suggested that they were more concerned with getting Mr. Sawyer to the convention venue in Calabar and cared very little about the health risk he posed. When monitored through CCTV cameras in Liberian airport Mr Sawyer wore a sad countenance, suggestive that he was seriously sick. His actions plainly shows that he did not make bodily contact with anybody, he sat alone from the rest of the boarding passengers and also decline a hand from an unsuspecting airport official. The question then is why would Liberia airport official allow such a visibly sick man board a plane? Here in Nigeria Why would Mr Sawyer not tell the Doctor that he was on surveillance for Possible EVD before arriving to aid his treatment and prevent further infection thereby preventing death? CONSPIRACY theories may be absurd sometimes but there are elements of truth if open your mind to their possibilities.

Madam, you and your country owes Nigerians an apology for the consequences this action caused them not a mere nonsense comments posted on media, so ridiculous!!!

Regards
