52. In Victoria, Australia, it is illegal to change a light bulb unless you’re a licensed electrician.

35. In parts of India, a man who is in debt can offer up his wife until the debt is paid.

9. In Saudi Arabia, there is no minimum age for marriage. In 2008, a Saudi court refused an 8-year-old girl, who asked for a divorce from her 58-year-old husband.

I don't even know what to say. angry

- In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having intimate relations with a male animal is punishable by death. (Like THAT makes sense.)

- In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman's genitals, but is prohibited from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see her reflection in a mirror. (Do they look different reversed?). Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also applies to undertakers. The sex organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times. (A brick??)

- The penalty for self-service in Indonesia is decapitation. (Geez! I wouldn't be caught dead in that country)

- There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time .. Reason: under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry. (Let's just think for a minute; is there any job anywhere else in the world that even comes close to this?)

- In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband's lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired. (Ah! Justice!)

- Coverless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England but only in tropical fish stores. (What's the point?)

- In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens, her mother must be in the room to witness the act. (Makes one shudder at the thought.)

- In Santa Cruz, Bolivia, it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time. (I presume this was a big enough problem that they had to pass this law?).

- In Maryland, USA, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one exception: Prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only "in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises." (Is this a great country or what!)

This is why it should be made illegal to comment before reading on NL. Many are guilty of this act.

Some of the laws are ridiculous like; 9, 19, 23, 35, 37, 39, 46 the one i hate the most is 35: in part of India a man who is in dept can offer up his wife until the dept is paid. What if the creditor use ur wife b4 u pay the money.

This kind of law can't abide in Nigeria o

19. In Arkansas there still exists a law that was instated in the 1800s that states a husband is allowed to beat his wife, but only once a month

There should be a history to the cause of this law. The Whites were once primitive too.

36. In Greece, if anyone wants to get married, the law requires those to publish their wedding notice in a newspaper (written in Greek) or on the City Hall notice board.

This is applicable in Nigeria also, I did it at Udu LGA of Delta State, it is a pre-weddng condition by law.
