The fact that you were born on the first of April shouldn't make you act like a retard. U just keep comfirmin the fact u r a Arrow. Cos u got shinning coffetti for brain cell u think u r bright Chei, e no go beta for person wey do u like this, i swear. 50yrs of bloggin, Oponu arindin ni boy yii sha. u r so ignorant ,so pple have been bloggin for 50yrs? Great!, go on, consolidate the fact u are an ignoramus.
Now when did it become who flows beta btw M9 and D'grin? U in a tite corner and u just lookin for a way out, lmao Ma point was and still is Dagrin aint the king of flow, i neva said anybody is, U r d idiot bringin M9 into the whole thing. and shiftin base immidiately u get stranded. When kids were drinkin milk to nourish they brains, u were busy suckin cow semem ,now see wat u did to u. Bring me back again u here, i dey wait u. oNe |

DBR: All these are ebonics. . . . .When a lummox gets fleeced, this is what they resort to. I don't expect anything else from a brain-fart anyways. . . . Half the square root of me IQ is miles beyond you.
And we keep asking you to tell us who is the king of flow if you think Da Grin isn't. I said Da Grin is and quite a few number of people have agreed to what i said. . . . Mention yours and letz see how retarded you have grown in the last few hours.
You are the semen the recipient of your Y-chromosomes shoulda swallowed. . . . I knew you had an agenda the moment you uttered your balderdash saying niggaz are dickriding Da Grin because he died. The motives of Mode-9 fans are predictable. Y'all cannot see beyond Mode-9 as the best rapper in Nigeria - I dunno where that notion came from. So to put things in perspective, i quickly made it known Da Grin had a better flow than Mode-9. It's ma opinion, you don't have to kill your parents for an honest opinion like mine. Jeeeez, get a LIFE, get a DOG. |

slimshay: Rhymestein is only trying his best to win the Mugu of the Year Award. But I think he'll have to up his game to beat Kaydee . . . it's going to be a close-call this year. After three consecutive years of Ofoka winning the award, he gets smart and now these two are fighting tooth and nail for the role of Odelomo Latile (I) of Nairaland. |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by DBR: 2:54pm On May 07, 2010 |
You probably won't agree with any of those three points I raised, but it's aiite . . . we already agreed on some things. Im startin wit this ur quote for a reason, one it shows u'v not been payin attntion to all i'v been sayin, u r so quick to wanna prove a point where none exist, i'l make ma response simpler, i promise. Yea, cos some of u think u kno all and must have the last say. the thing is e'rbody readin knows e'rbody's attitude to discussion in here. I neva disputed that, have i? Ma point is U dont need a large english linguistic compendium to be artistic . Of all he hundred of thousands of words english words may have, how many do they use? Some of d rappers aint even educated enuff to know them, and they improvise, and coem up wit ebonics and slang. 2. His influences are American . . . I used Chimamanda as an example, she only started learning how to use Nigerian themes and imagery after Chinua Achebe. I don't care if you're married to her, she said she thought it was 'impossible' before she started studying Nigerian writers. So because she THOUGHT it was impossible =one is constricted when writing or rappin in local lingua?? Doesnt the fact that chinua did it witout complain mean anythin Really i dont get u. I see how u and that other dude slyly change base. And u do it all the time. U get away wit it when u discussin wit others, but i see it all. Earlier it was: He started it, he's the founder, He had NOBODY to learn from, bla bla bla, now he's ONE OF the founders, clap for urself ooo, u hear. Dyu kno how d phrase ONE OF changes the coloration of this discourse? This is my stand: 1-Dagrin is a beast on the mic, his flow is tite, he's not contricted cos he rap mostly in yoruba. 2-He mixed his language, hence he even had a bigger pool of words to choose from.so i dont see limitation or constriction like u sayin he had. Im tempted to say that makes it easier, cos if the word no rhyme for yoruba, u fit find oyibo word take arrange am. 3-Rappin in Yoruba~~, infact rappin in any lingua is NOT more difficult than in english if u understand the language. Dyu think our grannies that speak more of our local dialect feel constrained by the language? I think not oNe |

@eldee Becos i said SWTD was weak Or Da grin no get airplay for benin until his death Am a fan of fast paced flow, not droppin it slowly, that da grin does most times,na crime Una dey talk flow,n pay less attention to the choice of beats d said artiste is used to A track lyk Promode,or extra extra freestyle, shey da grin's sweet delivery go match dat beat? Or didnt mode9 tear those beats apart, evn spazmodic Mode9 doesnt have d best flow,he is gud at d choice of beats he is knwn for,abi na lie? Na so so multies?internal rhymes nko U ppl's arguement is not valid at all Da grin flows over pop beats,Mode9 doesnt. That okokomaiko beat sef,i come dey wonder how da grin for fit in,if mode featured him And eldee,no dey find my trouble again |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by Sauron1: 3:32pm On May 07, 2010 |
Rhymstein: Listen to Hola Hola(especially Verse 2)
SYNTAX ERROR. Da Grin's album was more enjoyable. . . . .He had one of the best production outfit for a Naija Hip-Hop album. There's no skippable track, no skit or some nonsense intro/outro. . . . .It was like Nas' ILLMATIC. "Iwofa" featuring Bigiano was sweeter than intimacy. . . . .The flow, the rhythm and the overall cadence was off the chain.
"Ghetto Dreams" and "Pon Pon Pon" are pop beats?
"Okokomaiko" na good rap song? "Back in the days when we dey Okokomaiko, Boys just dey PSYCHO". What is the essence of such watery lyrics? Na by force to rhyme? If Mode-9 is guilty of anything, it's his hooks/chorus. They are so basic. . . . .so ordinary!!! A rap veteran should be doing better. I cannot fault the production of "Da Vinci Mode" but the lyrics just don't match the excellent beats. |

I knew you had an agenda the moment you uttered your balderdash saying niggaz are dickriding Da Grin because he died. Yes your honest-self-delusional opinion is urs, LOL~~so u just assumed, nice, u see how dumb u are?? So any opinion contrary to urs is cos there's M9 agenda? u r a buffoon, honestly. because your parents commited suicide cos of d shame of producin a cretinous anthropoid like u wont make us murder ours for revealin how daft u are. The only thing u quickly put into full glare is that u r a nitwit runnin reckless witout a rein. Im sure when u go to pass feces it's your head u stick in the toilet, u sh.it head. Learn this, when there's nothin tangible to hold on to, when it's just an opinnion simply say : i think Dagrin has the baddest flow. or Dagrin has ONE OF the best flow`~ u dont come on a thread and start vomitin thrash from your constipated bowel and call it FACT. And we keep asking you to tell us who is the king of flow if you think Da Grin isn't.Proto, M.i, SauceKid, iceberg,TTRapman, D'grin, M9, Iceprice,Ruggedman, Naeto are dudes i luv they flow. i do not enjoy Grin's flow more than theirs. So King?, i dont kno if any exist as per flow, tho i may prefer Proto. I'l take that advice of gettin a dog, how much do i need to pay your present owner to get u? Dont worry, u go get enuff bones chop and if u respond to d trainers instruction well enuff u'l get Canidae. oNe |

DBR: Ma assumptions are always right about plonkers like you. . . .
Don't compare ma parents with yours, abeg. Your own parents left you to be eaten by mongrels on a refuse dump but for a good samaritan that picked u up. Anuofia agbalagba.
You are a nilly. . . .I am so used to y'all Mode-9 fans. One gets the sly, pretentious, attention seeking, pathetic nonsensical sensationalist bullshit on here from you and your goons. Animals with no iota of common sense just spewing asinine comments from their diseased sinews.
What a Arrow. . . . .Funny how most of the peops that have posted here seems to agree with ma opinion. In your case, you are the only ranting like an Arabian camel that's been castrated manually.
Facts are based from stats. . . . . In this debate of Da Grin's flow, 80% seem to agree with me. You are just clutching at straws while sounding like a sexually tormented Vietnamese peasant.
How can you enjoy Grins flow more when your ears and nostrils are used to receive spunk from your biological father. Those sensory organs are infected. Your hear dogs bark when you should be hearing gun-shots.
Ewu Ara, Why don't you invest in a couple of yards of strong rope and then find a strong beam to tie it to? Save this world from your misery. |

Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by Ibime(m): 11:16am On May 08, 2010 |
I guess the difference here is the difference between a "rappers' rapper" and a "people's rapper". Those wey get the ear to study the thing know say it would take years to reach Mode 9's level of mastery. Da Grin's flow on the other hand can be mastered in 2 years from scratch. Someone held up "Pon Pon Pon" as an example of a killer flow, which it is sonically. . . . but if you deconstruct that flow bar by bar, its pretty basic. Its no different from 50 Cent flow on his collabos with Game. . . . |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by Scofield007(m): 1:20pm On May 08, 2010 |
I couldn't agree more with ihime. I think a lot of mistake dagrin for too much of a great rapper than he really is. Dont get me wrong however. I'm not saying dagrin is not a great artiste, but for a rapper, he needs more than those childish rhymes he churns out. |

Freestyling should be a blessing to hiphop and not otherwise. I'm not doubting dagrin's(bless his soul) street cred but i dont know if its just me, there's only a thin line differentiating him from lord of ajasa. |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by Scofield007(m): 7:47pm On May 08, 2010 |
@tosin, i'm sorry but i really think you shouldn't have used that word "fallacy". But since you have used it, pls can you tell me what fallacy i've committed? |
