Oritsejafor Has Dragged Christianity Into The Mud – Bishop Kaigama by chibecanglobal(m): 7:20am On Sep 26, 2014
The Archbishop of Jos, Archbishop
Ignatius Kaigama, has accused
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of denting the
image of the Christian Association of
Nigeria (CAN), over his recent
involvement in the recent “arms
deal” in South Africa.
Speaking on the BBC Hausa Service
in Kaduna yesterday, Archbishop
Kaigama, said they had been
watching with sadness how
Oristejafor had been hanging out
with the Presidency for long.
He accused the CAN President of
dragging Christianity into the mud.
Kaigama, who doubles as President,
Catholic Bishop Conference of
Nigeria also faulted the way Pastor
Oritsejafor was running the Christian
union like a political party.
He called on relevant authorities to
investigate the matter objectively
and ensure that those found guilty
are punished accordingly.
“It is not proper; the guilty must be
punished. It is not acceptable for a
Christian leader to be seen always
with the President. We in the
Catholic have always picked holes in
Oritsejafor’s style of leadership in
CAN and we even wanted to stop
attending CAN meeting at the
national level”, he said.

I thought Catholic pulled away from CAN

Why all this talk.?

Deeper life if I am correct is not part of CAN yet do not go around accusing CAN

Catholics should stop being childish

If they were convinced by the HolySpirit to leave CAN, they should allow God finish his fight.

4 crying out loud he only dragged hisself into d mud. Did he go there to represent CAN? No. I hv always known dat da man could nt be trusted. Christians already knw dat CAN is a fraud. It has never represented the majority of Christians. Dat pastor did his tins as individual wen he went into arm smuggling.

because they are one of the main body that inaugrated CAN, will you be happy and quiet when that "your house you've been building for a long time" is being mis-managed by someone who dnt understand the reason for it? Though man is a political animal but religion helps in creating boundries for it. He (Oriste) didn't try at all.

I hope sane people now understands the Catholics grievances with Ayo,

Are they bothered about the drug scandal in their world church? I guess they never heard of it, are Catholics only Christians I'm Nigeria? Anglican, baptist etc.

Can the catholic bishop tell us if they where not romancing with the govt. in power when they held same position, and never benefitted, either in cash, the same group that complain of someone meeting with president is meeting with sultan over 2015 election, shame on them

This actually what they wanted to cause divisions in the body of Christ so as to weaken the voice of the church? Put sentiments aside how is Oritsejafor culpable in this? His leased out aircraft was used to transport people who were meant to buy arms for the government and the people got arrested abeg wetin be Pst Ayo and him dragging Christianity to the mud in this? Did the south African authorities mention Pst Ayo's name in any of there reports and investigation? Federal government has said they own the money so how does Pst Ayo come in? The company who leased out this plane has given a press statement to that effect how does Pst Ayo picture in this?Guys Stop this unnecessary smear campaign until we have a proof from SA indicting the MOG the name calling should stop.

Hey I don't know if you are a Christian? But there things you need to understand Oritsejafor has nothing to do with the arms deal...except you have fresh facts linking him to the people arrested in SA or his ownership of the cash, aside his residual interest in the plane that was used for transportation, and as regards his involvement in politics lets stop been myopic one of the reason why we need a CAN president is someone who would defend policies that affects Christians...imagine if Islamic banking had sailed through? Or the Proposed establishment of grazing deserve for herdsmen across Nigeria? And the idea of Christians not participating in politics is flawed..we all want a better Nigeria how is this achievable when Christians don't participate in policy making and governance? If you have a contrary opinion please back it with scriptures.

These catholic bishops are very annoying and hypocritical. CAN has always been the political voice of Christians, interfacing with Government at various levels back from the days of Catholic/anglican/Methodist presidency.
By the way, are catholics christians?, because catholicism is classified as a religion and Christianity as another (by some authorities). Could this have informed having three religious denominations in every Federal establishment (e.g. Universities) i.e. Mosque, catholic church and protestant church.
Who wants them in the CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA/CHURCH OF NIGERIA?, they should stick to their Catholic Bishops Conference or better still their Roman Church.
