Fayose Didn’t Slap Justice Adeyeye, But He Supervised His Beating – Ekiti Attorn by oludashmi(f): 11:28pm On Sep 27, 2014
Wale Fapohunda, the Attorney General of Ekiti state, was a guest on Channels TV Sunrise programme today where he shed light into the alleged beating of a judge by the Governor-elect at the Ekiti state High Court on Thursday September 25th.

According to Fapohunda, Justice Adeyeye told him when they spoke on phone that he was never slapped by Ayo Fayose but that the governor-elect supervised his beating.

“When I spoke to the judge, the judge did not say that the governor-elect slapped him. He said he supervised his beating. The judge said he (Fayose) was there, and was standing while his thugs, for want of a better word, beat the judge. Not only did they beat him up, they tore his clothes.” Fapohunda said.

He said Justice Adeyeye told him that immediately they arrived in court for the election tribunal sitting, Fayose’s supporters/thugs began ransacking the court rooms, tearing court documents. After ransacking about 4 courts, Justice Adeyeye came out to have a conversation with the governor-elect.

Adeyeye did this other junior judges were not seen, they probably had taken to their heels and he (Adeyeye), being a senior Judge, thought he could approach Fayose as a gentle man. He went to meet Fayose to ask him to control his supporters who were ransacking court rooms and tearing documents, and before he knew it, Adeyeye was physically assaulted.

Meanwhile, Adeyeye was not a member of the Electoral tribunal, he just wanted to calm the situation at that time.

William o Connor :
You can pour holy oil and holy water on a thug until you have emptied buckets of both; but at the end he will be a consecrated thug, but a thug all the same.

Ah, Ekiti people just fall my hand for this issue. Why nah??

There was no need at all for the violence. Couldn't they have taken a leaf from the Niger Delta militants? They should just have kidnapped the judge and any other judge that was expected to preside over the said tribunal. And they should have kept those judges till after the swearing-in ceremony of the new governor, before releasing them to go and sin no more! Yes!! cool

That way, the whole issue would have been resolved!

No curfew, no burning of houses and no violence! wink
