There are so much 'issues/challenges' we need to clear before we talk about bringing in Car Manufacturers.
1. Power - The power will generate/transmit/distribute is not even enough for domestics/cottage businesses nor our scanty industries now were're talking about heavy industry like Auto-assambly.
2. Market - Dont be surprise that Nigeria auto-market is importing less than 180,000 units of cars/annum (both brand new and 'tokunbo'). And for a production to be cost effective and profitable it has to produce average of 20,000units per month.*Do the arithmetics. Where will they sell the excess?
3. Quality System - Knowing that Nigeria is a low quality society/economy and a third world country, you'll be surprised that Ghanians sef wont buy our products.
Besides, many Nigerians wont.
4. Value Chain - Note that most of the cars you see today use average of 2500parts to become a car. How will they source for the glass parts (windshields, mirror etc), the eletricals (for your info - Siemens makes eletricals for Honda).

We can go on and on...

My submission: Let's fix our Power/Energy sector, Bring back the likes of Michelline, Dunlop. Bring in sub-assembing companies. As all these improves our economy grows and we are inching towards our dream.

#sorry, its so lenghty!
