[size=18pt][b]Ever notice that whenever NATO /USA invade and occupy a country, the first thing they go after is "The Hearts and Minds"

This is Africa's problem.

They have won over the hearts and minds of Africans meaning that we are more loyal to them that we are to ourselves.

We trust them more than we trust ourselves.

We Believe them more than we believe ourselves

We choose to get our news from them rather than from our own sources.

We allow them to tell us who should be our heros and our friends.

We allow them to choose who should be our anti-heros and enemies.

We support them more than we support ourselves

We trade with them more than we trade with ourselves

Africa can never progress until we win back our own Hearts and Minds

What can we do today ?

Stop getting your news from the white man / western source like BBC, /CNN /Fox News etc.

What a visionary Nkrumah was.

Just like other African heros, the white man (western nations) attempted to rubbish his legacy, the same way they have rubbished and discredited great African leaders such as Sani Abacha, Robert Mugabe and Idi Amin.

So where should we get our news from
Al Jazeera with its Arab/Muslim point of view? Those who BOUGHT Africans as slaves and CONTINUE to keep us as slaves

Non of the nonstream media not even our own state controlled media since our govt is controlled by the white nations.

Get your news from the internet do your own research in whatever you hear from the mainstream media

Sometimes visiting sites of countries that I anti-America such as Iran's or Zimbabwe's . Basically we need to work harder to verify whether the news we are getting from the mainstream media is the truth

What sort of senseless statement is that ? How do they control the internet ? Please tell us … how do they stop others and us from posting and reading the truth, since we don't have the finance to start our own big media companies what do we lack that we can't start our own internet information dissemination systems.
It's people like you that yells ocha wu agbara up and down ,a product of colonial brainwashing bearing attitudes born out of self hatred, inferior resolve and an acute case of Stockholm Syndrome.

We use the creation of the whites and so what? The same resolve of an enslaved mind unashamedly displaying itself for the world to see, they used African inventions to achieve their dream then why can't we use there inventions to assist in achieving ours ? Why can't we copy their products and use it our own advantage, manufacture it ourselves and tweak it to work for our objectives ?
What sort of picture are you trying to paint for our readers with this your fatalistic slave mentality ? God! You And your types are just Horrible.

No Mr, we never committed anything against ourselves that can be termed "worst" pre-colonial times, the crimes we need to teach our children were the forced miseducation by the white Brits during colonial occupation, how fathers whom protested about the miseducation of his children are promptly imprisoned, how community children are forced under colonial mandate to go to school where they are told they were nothing, that they were barbarians, that white man is God,that their culture is backwards while the whites culture of pillage, greed, individualism and waste is right, where the insidious seeds that produced Africans like you with their slave resolve were sown.

i will tell you the worst atrocity we have committed against ourselves, it is the continued propagation of those same lies that was used to destroy us by the whiteman, it is the propagation of his religion, his idea of superiority, the continued vilification of our traditions, our moral codes, our spiritual observations which has preserved sanity and trust between a man and his neighbors, that is the worst atrocity we have committed against our race and it was not done precolonial or colonial times. so take a good book on African liberation and enlighten yourself a bit , an before you spew another of those foul smelling " the same books written by the whiteman" ,let me surprise you by saying "BLACK PEOPLE WRITE BOOKS TOO!!" read theirs!!.

Bros, you have a very big problem.

First, you said we should turn our backs on those outsiders trying to control our minds, only for you to clear an outsider called PressTv. In your logic, "since they are anti-west, they must be all okay"! Now, thats very childish and funny.

Secondly, you advocated we should come back home and pay attention to our local media, but you warn us to stay away from government controlled media.

In summay, we should just swallow what the opposition say wether home or abroad.

Thats a lie.

CNN and BBC and PressTv and all such like are all the same. They all brew and sell different ttpes of poisons to us.

This is my posution.

We must come back home. Listen to all local media, both governement and private, then draw our conclusions

The ideal way is to ensure get your news from a variety of sources, but be especially sceptical of the western news media when it comes to African affairs and also any media that is royal to the white man such as our own dear Nigerian media.

Try and get your news and information from a variety of sources.

Adding to the details above , the main importance is to be attached to how we analyze our news and less on how we get our news, in order to build such capabilities it is extremely important that Africans should be educated on their history, the relationships between them(Africans) and other groups which has come into contacts with them, the detailed outcome of such relationships and how it affected the present conditions of the Black African people.

Information analysis is not rocket science as it only needs common sense and basic awareness serving as a base on which our conclusions are formed. It is those historical knowledge that will serve as guidelines while sifting truth from lies, it is those historical knowledge that will help in identifying certain patterns in the news that helps us to accept or reject a certain statement or proclamation as truth.

As Noblezone rightly pointed out all these nations and their media has their own interests at heart therefore it will not be advisable to accept their claims based on sentiments alone, besides their interests may change tomorrow, but again there is always a percentage of truth in any publication either from that which it directly implies or from the facts which it omits, it is in such exercises that a sound knowledge of our history becomes useful, armed with such knowledge we can not only know what has been directly implied or what has been omitted but also discern the ulterior motives of each party propagating such information.

A citizen who is aware of IMF/World Bank SAP(Structural Adjustment Programs) during the Babangida era, the destructive effects of currency devaluation on life quality and wealth creation, the huge profits that western multinationals reaped from such programs leaving Nigerians desperate and creating millions of poor masses overnight would not only suspect at first instance any intrusion into Nigerian economy by World Bank/IMF whether directly or through their agents but also will be forced to think and try to establish patterns in any future advise given by such organizations before accepting such advice, A citizen that is not aware of such information on the other hand will just be swayed or intimidated by a motely of white people with big sounding PHDs and foolishly accept the poisons they administer.

Very true.
I agree that noblezone has a point that is why I say that we should simply be sceptical about most news that the West's press present and seek to get news from other sources. I think it is very fair for Africans to assume that any concern about Africa shown by western governments is usually not genuine and in most cases they have a hidden motive of maintaining neo-colonialism and economic exploitation of Africa. So you are right we must have that in the back of our mind as we watch any news the West presents relating to Africa.

BTW, I approve your new signature smiley

Good late Kwame Nkrumah, rest in perfect peace! The Lord owns the land and its fulness. In other to focus, Africans must face Africans IN PRAYERS to prevent France, Portuga, Russia, US, UK, NATO, Amnesty and even Red Cross etc from distabilising Africa. B.O. could not stop The Hague from harrassing Kenyatta when they accused him of war crime and yet his father was from Kenya. So Goodluck is progressing @ the Pace of God. He didn't invite bokoharam, his distractors did just to stall his progress. The Lord watches the way of The Righteous but the way of the wicked shall perish.

That is precisely why he was saying that you are a perfect example of manifestation of the problem, so you should listen to him and educate yourself about African history, with such knowledge you will know why Obasanjo disassembled all the institutions that Abacha set up, you will know why your leaders care more about the welfare of Foreign Owned Multinationals than the welfare of Nigerians, You will become able to identify patterns that keeps reoccurring in almost all the regimes which the USA has opposed and other perhaps opposing patterns which steadily occur with regimes the USA has favoured.
With such knowledge statements like "America must know it's their money" would have a deeper profound meaning to you instead of just a cache phrase for ridicule.
So educate yourself on African history then come back and ask the right questions.
