asalimpo: I doubt that, Asalimpo. Just read the first chapter of Genesis. The first chapter alone. Try to read it critically. Let's start from there. |

To become a good christian you must know how to manipulate questions. Christians are the biggest liars in the world. they will make promises and they use god as an excuse to break them. I was at the barber's yesterday evening when a discusion on how Nigeria was able to contain Ebola and Europe can't at the moment. A christian idiot could not wait to claim " God did it" I was like, are you serious! You mean Ebola is here to test people's faith? What a retard! 3 Likes |

Why are atheist always bitter, and filled with anger? If you don't believe in God why always talk about Him? You don't worship God but u worship the white man, how are u sure all they say about evolution or whatever is true? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Nobody: 9:28am On Oct 10, 2014 |
havilla: Lmao......... Where did u get ur own idea that atheists worship white men? And how do u know everyone on this religion section are Africans? The last time I checked only 62% of nairalanders are Nigerians, the rest are non Africans. The reason why we talk about him is because we are trying to let people know the truth. It's just like medical doctors who visit a village that believe smearing excreta on their eyes can cure flu,the doctors are not obsessed about the excreta They are only concerned about those who believe in excreta powers, same with atheists, we are not obsessed about God,we are just concerned about those who believe in God's power. Cappish? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by nobilis: 5:51pm On Oct 10, 2014 |
havilla: People like you don't understand what atheism is all about. And that is why you will always equate atheism with belief in evolution. That's very very wrong, Havillah dear. Many atheists do not believe in evolution, take note of this fact. And secondly, many christians believe in evolution (check out "Thesitic Evolution". And I've never seen an atheist who is bitter. Conversely, it is the religious people who are always bitter and who try to do everything in their power to persecute people who are not of the same religious persuasion as they are (check out the history of religious persecutions in whole story of man's existence on earth). |

I don't understand how someone who humbles himself/herself to know more about God through His Word(the Bible) still do not seem to understand . God does not need the christians to prove He is God.Maybe you should try being subtle and less challenging you know like someone who really wants to know.We are humans and don't have all the answers,no one does.We are still learning and have our doubts sometimes atleast I do.The beautiful thing is to rise above it all. God will locate whoever truelly seeks Him! |

Dapo777:................ I must first start by apologising for replying quite late.We exchanged thoughts till about 11:30pm last night and I still needed to be at work for 7:30 am today.Just got home now ergo I can reply. I went through.the.bibilical quotes you posted but it seems as if you have misinterpreted many of them, e.g If I am an employer and I am in dire need of a certain geek who for some reason is not available in Nigeria, I can say to my HR dept: "Get me that guru.I don't mind even if you have to travel to the ends of the earth to get him".........This does not mean I believe the earth is cornered or flat etc like you have stated. Hope you understand? |

kekakuz: A pig wearing lipstick is still a pig. The story has major holes in it. Once the fear of asking questions dissipates, that story can no longer be sold to a mentally disabled 3 yr old. |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Weah96: 12:01pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Missonas: The point is, if what you say is true, then we atheists were designed by God himself to be skeptical. Am I missing something? Was this God unable to anticipate future events? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by theunusualmoon(m): 12:27pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Dapo777:No bro that's not the only one.Infact they all sound a bit similar to me and that was why I decided to sight just one example. Ofcourse I could I could go on and say a man like yourself is one of the strongest "pillars" in your family. Or I could say there's no "pillar" greater than the head of the family even the ones that hold the greatest buildings and bridges. You will still interprete me correctly so I beg you to understand the depth of these words and not just their superficial meanings. |

theunusualmoon: What about the hard sky with stars hanging from it? How about seeing all the kingdoms of the world from a mountain? What deep meanings do those words have? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by theunusualmoon(m): 2:23pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Dapo777:.......... Talking about your qoute about the sky in the book of Job that was Elihu speaking and he was just trying to paint a picture of how great GOD is for Job to see.You yourself have probably said to your woman before :" I'd love you till the end of time" but that doesn't mean you can see the future. At that moment you were only trying to paint a mental picture for her to see how much you love her. And to the verse you quoted in Matthew......That was just a way of saying on that day there will be no stars in the sky,it doesn't necessarily mean that the writer was saying stars were being hung up in the air. |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Missonas(f): 5:17pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Weah96: When you say designed you make it sound like God made us without a mind of our own.The point you're missing is that you chose to be an atheist. He is all knowing. He planned a bright future,a happy ending but all this is not devoid of bad happenings(all that we're seeing today) by His grace we overcome.always will |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Weah96: 5:24pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Missonas: That is NOT what I'm saying. I'm saying that he is the designer of our MINDS. Where did our minds come from if it wasn't also designed like the rest of everything? He's an omniscient MIND designer. My decision to be an atheist is, by principle, a product of my designed mind. Does that make sense to you? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Missonas(f): 5:50pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Weah96:Yes He is the initial designer of our minds.Whatever happpened to each and every individual along the way and how they handled it is what I can't explain. Will you tone it down a little?pls? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Weah96: 6:00pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Missonas: Common sense cannot be toned down. God is omniscient. He designs human minds. What are you telling me? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Missonas(f): 6:07pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Weah96:Oh u the one with common sense and I'm not?yeah right knock yourself out bro.Lemme ask u dis where u born an atheist? You prolly did not get the part where I said He is the INITIAL designer.Meaning He made you His but not without the freewill to choose |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Nobody: 6:51pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
theunusualmoon: Ok But u ignored one part. How did the devil show Jesus all the kingdoms of the world from the highest top of the mountain. From the shape of the earth Which I know,no matter how tall a mountain could be,it is not possible to see all the kingdoms of the world unless the earth was flat.........If everything is symbolic why does everything indicate that the world is flat? Why such improbable coincidence? I get ur point that They might be used symbolically, But What I don't understand is why every prove is indicating the world is flat? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Nobody: 6:58pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Missonas: God that gave u freewill, did he not see the end result of such freewill with his omniscience? Do u understand now? |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Missonas(f): 7:14pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Dapo777:Cos he saw it.Salvation is earned not given freely.Even an atheist knows good thgs dnt come easyYou say end result like the world is over. All this is way bigger than you and I,drop it! |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by theunusualmoon(m): 8:24pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Dapo777:........................ 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. I am always proud of this part when I read it because it reminds me that if the devil was bold enough to confront Jesus with such temptations then he'll most certainly tempt anyone with anything he considers attractive and I should brace myself to avoid falling but unlike me when you read it what you see is weaknesses in the scripture. Like i said earlier it all depends on what you chose to see and believe. |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Nobody: 8:25pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Missonas: It's bigger than ur comprehension to grasp, not mine. So If It's too difficult for u to understand, u can drop it,I heard too much thinking can cause brain tumour. I repeat,If God saw What freewill would cause(that is the evil that we all see around) and still goes ahead to give us freewill, then he is to blame because he already knows But still went ahead,So It's his fault. |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Missonas(f): 9:05pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Dapo777:Someone just has to take the fall.Typical.Ok u seem to have all the answers.Dropped! |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Nobody: 9:13pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
theunusualmoon: Ok then. We don't see things the same way. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A BOOK FROM AN OMNI-EVERYTHING, THE ACCLAIMED CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE,A PERFECT BEING, I don't expect ANY single mistake, the Bible MUST be perfect,If the author claims to be perfect!!!! PERFECTION must be scrutinized thoroughly. |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by Nobody: 9:16pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Missonas: You people always say that to cover up. Do u need to have all the answers to know that round pegs can't fit in square holes? Do u need to have all the answers to know that? Use ur intelligence, I can tell u are not a kid,use ur intelligence. Don't let religion tie u down intellectually. |
Re: Ways Christians evade Difficult Questions From Others. by SalC: 9:26pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
Dapo777:Hehehe this is funny, though I didn't read from the beginning but if this post is anything to go by, I will only say, it is worth knowing that freewill is not synonymous with evil. It is just the ability to chose between two or more things, we may argue that freewill is the reason why man fall but I will also say, had God not created us with freewill, he only created robots. The good aspect of the freewill God gave to us is, it gives both we and him the joy and confidence of knowing that we love and serve God today, not because we have no other option or can't do otherwise like robots that can't go beyond what they are programmed to do, but because we willing chose out of the freewill he gave to us, to love and serve him. |
