BananaBender:But not as much as feminism. With the washed-up christianity, it was like one step forward, two steps backward. And those letters of Paul were one show of horror, ought to be locked up in a pit of hell. I'm sure he was the one James and John advised the children of God not to listen to. |

Shirley07: Yep, I guess you could say that. If you're talking about I Corinthians 11, I would say you have to read it in the cultural context of that time. Paul isn't as much of a sexist as you might think. "..ought to be locked up in a pit of hell." I feel that way too, some chapters could definitely be omitted from the bible. 2 Likes |

Shirley07:You are not for Christ,i don't see anything Christlike in you,and saying Christ is a Feminist is crap and a lie which I believe you know too. Maybe you should dig up the word feminist,Jesus Christ was and is not a feminist! The examples you gave are your own interpretation, the woman accuseed of adultery,d samaritan woman and Lazarus cousin, none of them showed that Christ was a Feminist,i won't be surprised if you say Christ was married...smh! 2 Likes |

Shirley07: Shirley Bassey, how dare you call Jesus a feminist? He never picked a beau, apart from being passionate about the plights of sinful women. Stop the blasphemy! Chimanmandumb Adichie done raise a lot of blasphemous chics with her idi.otic we're all feminists tripe! |

BananaBender:The belief and aim that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men; the struggle to achieve this aim(Oxford Dictionary,6th edition). Jesus did not come to struggle for feminism, none of the examples above showed that he did! Jesus came to show us the way to the Father, Jesus was not some 'jobless men or women' carrying placards for women to be on the same boat with men! |

BananaBender:I read that chapter just now and I cringe at the statement 'Be ye followers of me... Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them unto you. He asked people to follow him, not Christ. No wonder James said in his letters that 'Be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation'- James 3:1. How am I even sure Paul saw Christ? He was his own witness by the way, the disciples didn't even have any revelation about it. 1 Like |

SirShymex:What do you think would have happened with a woman or two in the midst of the disciples in a lonely wilderness, where Christ often lodge? You need to use your brain at times... Nevertheless, Mary madgalene, his mother and other women were among his followers and were found with him while he was teaching. 2 Likes |

Shirley07: I'll ignore the bit that I crossed. So, how about tell me what would've happened if a woman or two were "in the midst" of the disciples? I wasn't born then, so I'm not in a position to answer that. However, I do know priests and nuns in the Roman Catholic Church operate together without any problem whatsoever. Also, why do you feminists always claim everything? When you're not involved in incessant biitching about the most trivial things and being unnecessarily belligerent, you're busy claiming everything that has absolutely nothing to do with your ideology that looks more like politics, than anything to be taken seriously? If not for the civil rights movement, and how what they achieved opened a leeway, for women worldwide to move up a bit - I honestly don't think your non-achieving feminist theories will be relevant today. 1 Like |

SirShymex:Because you haven't heard of fornication in the missionary where priests and nuns sleeps with one another? And if you don't want to engage your brain, let me help you. The disciples were babies at the beginning who needed to be nurtured, so putting a woman or two which could cause distraction at both ends isn't a wise thing to do. Moreover, If there's anyone claiming everything out there, it's you and your fellow bigots. 1 Like |

Shirley07: Babies in what aspect? Babies in holiness/religion, or by age? Er, let me dig into my frozen knowledge of theology. I think Jesus got baptised at age 30, and he didn't start his ministry until after that. And he selected grown men as his disciples. So, I don't understand what was babyish about them. Be more explicit with your posts, Shirley Bassey. I'm not a mind-reader. And have you got any proofs that Catholic Priest and Nuns sh.ag one another? I cited the Roman Catholic Church for a reason because I know whatever you're alluding is more or less a norm in pentecostal Churches - not the Catholic Church. A typical Catholic Priest would rather sleep with a young boy than a female...so make sure you understand what you're talking about. Well, I'm not a bigot, I just put folks in check - my service to humanity. Still waiting for the day you lot will claim that Lucifer and the fallen angels were also feminists. |
Re: Gender Inequality: Why Things Won't Be Normal. by Shirley07: 1:54am On Oct 19, 2014 |
SirShymex:I mean babies in righteousness and this showed in the case of Peter who lied to deny Christ, Judas becoming a thief and eventually betrayed Christ, John becoming greedy and fighting for position in the kingdom e.t.c. No wonder Christ said he will send the comforter to lead them in the right path because by strength, no man shall prevail. And let me tell you, Immorality is quite rampant among these catholic fathers and sisters out there. I attended a catholic school and I was a witness to such thing. Infact, I have little respect for them. On lucifer being a feminist, he's not one because he's a selfish bastard, just like the chauvnist and sexists. 2 Likes |

Re: Gender Inequality: Why Things Won't Be Normal. by Nobody: 4:26pm On Oct 19, 2014 |
Mintayo: You don't have to "struggle for feminism" to be considered a feminist. According to your definition, a feminist is one who believes men and women should have the same rights and opportunities as men. Jesus Christ definitely did not discriminate between genders and he believes women and men to be equal. The only gender distinctions present in the Bible have to do with the culture of that time. There is no mention of spiritual gifts or salvation being different for men and women. @SirShymexx and shirley07: Jesus had female disciples, lol Luke 8, Act 1:13-14, Luke 24: 13 to 33 1 Like |

BananaBender:Feminism is a word that was coined here on earth, its a "struggle" that was created here on earth,it has nothing to do with God's kingdom. And the truth is,as long as we are here on earth men and women will never be placed on the equality scale! There is nothing about Jesus message that talks about feminism,Jesus messages has nothing to do with feminism. Trying to rope him into feminism is way outta it. Jesus didnt come to the earth to to tell people that "men and women" are equal(this is my stand). His message centres on God's love, mercy and forgiveness(in the case of the woman caught in adultery). |

Mintayo: You are very ignorant about the scriptures, you need to go back and do an educative reading on the bible you live by. Who cares if the word is 'feminism' or 'maninism', who cares?? That is why I asked you to define feminism. Stop looking at the letters that make up feminism and start looking at the message that feminism advocates. Jesus is a passive feminist. 1 Like |
