I observe a sudden "gear-change like" mild jerk when accelerating on a Honda Accord 2008 model. On running a diagnostic, It came back with error code P0305 which indicates a misfire in cylinder 5.
My auto technician ran some check on the spark plug and it seems okay and conclude that all is well. He then carried out a spark plug swap from cylinder 3 to 5 as a confirmatory test for defect elimination. I have been driving the car since then. No more error code but the mild jerk still persist when I am accelerating.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?

There are so many things that can cause a misfire. Go for a complete tune up which includes checking of your fuel pump pressure, servicing injector noozles, checking spark plugs, servicing of inlet manifold if necessary and checking up your fuel filter. Your crank sensor can also cause a misfire

All the above are not the best ideas.
Start with a tune up as part of scheduled maintenance.

i.e replace all spark plugs with new ones then if you still have misfire it will be one of your ignition coil that is bad.

You can check the primary and secondary resistance to narrow it down to a specific coil, but always start with the cheapest thing first;the spark plugs.

If you had erased the code and rescan but get a P0305 then it implies the coil on 5 is bad but if you got a P0303 the it was the spark plug.

You don't want to drive with a misfire because it will damage your catalytic converter, and engine wear

I did switched the spark plugs around. Even then the same cylinder 5 is indicated on the OBDII scanner.

check the injector nozzle on the cylinder 5. And do a live scan too.

Your complain was a soft jerk (transmission related), scan TCM if you have no codes, check engine mounts.
