Forget the big grammar! what does deregulation mean? It simply means that a worker in lagos can not earn the same as that of someone in Bauchi. Each state should determine what they can pay. Otherwise investors will flee poorer states. 1 Like |

QMark:Political office holders aren't meant to recoup their capital after they get into public office. This isn't business. If you want to profit from capital spent then get into a business. in the Uk, all members of House of Commons and all the members of House of Lords pay for their house rents and other bills. The only official residence is for the Prime minister (10 Downing Street) this is a country whose GDP is bigger than the entire sub-sahara Africa. In Nigeria, house members don't pay for fuel even for their private cars. Yet they receive 30million per month. That's why every dick want to go there at all cost. Our cost of government is criminally expensive. |

grandstar:But all state house of representative members receive same salary irrespective of state. Don't you think the federal law makers should start with themselves first ? |

lezz: My point about posters is sure a joke. I definitely can't fault your argument. You're 100 right. Unfortunately, things have to be abnormal to be normal in Nigeria. It is so sad. 1 Like |

lezz:House of Representatives members though from different states are not workers of the states but workers of the FG so I don't see why their salaries should differ. States don't pay them, the FG does. What we should rather be calling for with all seriousness is a reduction in their take home pay which is quite humumgous. |

APContherun:i was actually referring to State Houses of Assembly members in the 36 states of the federation..yes their take home pay is criminally exorbitant encouraging the polity to be violent, die-hard and ideology deficient. |

joseph1832: No mind the guy,be like say e neva sabi as e dey go for naija...u sabi au many state govts dey pay minimum wage, now you want each state to determine au much it will pay its workers,to what end is dis goin to be,some state govnors are so wicked that, they will rather spend money running their state parties than attend to workers welfare, the truth is dis,the government knows True Federalism is what will save this country from its current situatn, rather than put proper machinery in place for the smooth transition into making each state a truly federal state, they are trying to circumvent it,some state governments can decide that workers earning 100k will now earn 50k because the state is financially incapable to pay 100k,who does it favour, d state government, does it affect their monthly allocatn no,does it affect d percentage normally allocated for staff wages and salary no,if dis happens,u leave the workers @ d mercy of d governors, the state governments can do as they like, whatever calculated move should affect d lawmakers and senators themselves...revolution is staring Nigerians in d face and saying...WTF are u people waiting for..a sign from heavenpls,if they shud deregulate, they should start from their salaries, state governments in Nigeria are so wicked...do u knw au much each state government truly makesdo u?...if rivers state says its poor, what can anybody do abt it,nothing...so deregulatn won't solve any problem,it will only create more,so pls,d situatn is hard for some ppl already, why make it hardera state governor in d south west was reportedly planning to sack workers with abt 5yrs to retirement, that same governor didn't xplain au he'll recruit ppl to do the jobs of d sacked...left for me,d day our leaders learn to cut their cloth according to their size(pardon me for dis english, jst to make it understandable)...d day, things will get better, deregulatn won't stop corruptn,it will only fire it..NLC had better involve relevant international bodies and local agencies, make it no go be like d subsidy protest. |

lezz: Thew reps are a tiny , inconsequential minority. Private sector companies dont need them in their emoployment. If wages are too high in these poor states, companies will not go there. Low cost of production has always been a strong motivation for companies to move to less developed or costly areas. Today, in Germany, East Germany is seriously lagging behind because East German wages are set too high relative to their level of productivity. You would expect companies to be flooding their as its the poorer side but because wages are relatively high, that has not occured 1 Like |

the mistake is from the labour leaders, the so call politicians give them pea nuts, they will then betray the union.the least paid work in most countries that is as developed as Nigeria is $20 per hour, but Nigeria graduate is on $250 per month in some states. The so called law makers are not happy that Nigerian civil servant is driving foreign used cars that he bought with loan from another vampire (bank, which is been owned by the law makers) or co operatives, now they have another planned to stop importation of foreign used cars.the masses should come out in mass and take to the streets to express our anger.they are no infrastructures in place to help to for development, they are taking us as fools. |
