Ahead of the People’s Democratic Party’s ward congresses across the nation, Oyo State PDP governorship aspirants are making moves for political re-alignment.
One of such moves came from former Gov. Adebayo Alao Akala’s camp on Tuesday, Oct. 28th at the Molete, Ibadan residence of Chief Adigun Irawo, staunch member of People’s Democratic Party and a leader from Oyo North Senatorial District.

In attendance at the meeting were five of the seven PDP aspirants of Ibadan extraction, otherwise known as G7, with two other front line politicians from Okeogun area (Dr. Saka Balogun and Chief Adetoro) with another Ibadan indigene, Chief Nureni Akanbi, who is not an aspirant.


The focus of the meeting, according to our impeccable source, was with a view to persuading the Ibadan five aspirants to align with Akala’s camp for the next governorship election, so as to be able to neutralize Senator Teslim Folarin’s grip on the party’s state exco, come Nov. 29th primaries.
Our source further added that the three politicians of Okeogun extraction virtually went on persuasive note, urging the five aspirants that included Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, Kehinde Olaosebikan, Dr. Soji Adejumo and Gbolarunmi Azeem, to kindly consider their past relationship with Akala.
It should be remembered that the five aspirants have in the past being in government with the former governor.
In their collective response, however, the five Ibadan aspirants were reportedly said to have asked the Okeogun party leaders to advise their kinsman (Akala) to step down his governorship ambition instead.
“Akala should rather anoint one of us and back him up for the election. He should be ready to play leadership role and king maker, in Oyo State PDP, but not an aspirant,” said one of the aspirants on behalf of the rest of them.

Alao akala's unanimous candidature of pdp in that state will only result to failure, though in the begining with a promising day ahead but eventually polls will be against him reason is not other than electorates being tired of same people taking into cognizance their bad antecedents. A man like seyi makinde should be supported in steering the wheels of that state cos of his gentlemanliness,undiluted aspirations come in the next election, that's if apc dont get their games right
