Speakers of 35 states' houses of assembly ‎on Saturday in Abuja
said that they would not recognise Hon. Dele Olugbemi as the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
‎

They spoke under the auspices of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures (CSSL), a forum which encompasses all the speakers of the 36 states of the federation.
‎

The CSSL's chairman and also Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Sam Ikon, stated this in Abuja while addressing journalists at an interactive session of Civil Society Organizations and Speakers of State Houses of Assembly on "Constitution Amendment Bills awaiting passage" organized by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC).

Ikon said that the group still recognised Dr. Adewale Omirin as the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly because the mode of his impeachment was illegal and unconstitutional.

Just so thrilled its a speaker of a staunch PDP state that released the statement and good reason is winning over partisanship once in a very long time. There's still some glimmer of hope for our hard earned democracy.

Whether it is on FP or not, I saw it and commented, all lovers of democracy MUST see it even if it is taken to Agricullture section.

Putting it on fp would not restore the APC speaker. The new speaker remains until the highest court of the land rules.Not even the Abuja high court will restore him

When Tambuwal was acting contrary to the constitution, u said no court has removed him.So over to you. The new speaker will remain until the highest court rules.Whether the coalition of speakers recognize him is immaterial, the most important thing is that Fayose is working with them and getting his approvals from the ekiti state HOA

I've been observing this Sam Ikon, he is just like Rotimi Amaechi when he was the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and Chairman of CSSL.
The action of the impostor in Ekiti State should be condemned by all.
