The political atmosphere is getting hotter by the day as 2015 approaches At present, most of the political war is fought online, from Blogs, facebook, to twitter, and every online forum you can think of There have been accusations, counter acusations, mudslinging, namecalling and even threats. While the opposition would see nothing good in Jonathan's government, literally performing an e-naming ceremony for the president, names such as clueless,Jonathan, etc keeps coming up On GEJ's part, the opposition cyber goons have been reffered to as "collective children of woe", and rather than accept blames or take to correction, they would rather hide under the banner "it has always been this worse, it doesn't start with GEJ" Many Nigerians are still fence sitting, not knowing which side of the divide to fall in, and would rather siddon look The essence of this publication is to help those in the group which have I will rightly term "Siddon Look Association of Nigeria" SLAN :::::Scorecard on Major issues:::: 1. Infrastructure: in terms of infrastructural facilities, majority of the governors on both sides have failed woefully However, there are exceptions, in PDP, states like Akwa Ibom, Rivers (under Amaechi, as a PDP gov.,), and a few others up north States being ruled by opposition that have witnessed a level of infrastructural development include, most notably, Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Edo and Kwara(partly under PDP too) and Imo Others like Oyo, Ekiti and haven't fared notably well In terms of infrastructure, one may be tempted to give it to the opposition 2. Education: The PDP government at the center, the FG, has done its bit in this sector Creation of the Almajiri schools, the federal universities, scholarship funds etc are laudable. Even if they aren't being implemented as they should be, the intention of GEJ is commendable The opposition, particularly in the southwest haven't done too well in this area, the ridiculous increase in tuition fee in LASU and OOU are totally undesirable. Forget the cosmetic and politically motivated reduction. However, Ogbeni Aregbe of the state of Osun is commendable in this area, His achievements are second to none Others are; Rabiu Kwankwaso,APC, Kano... Good APC: Rochas Okorocha... Fair PDP: Gabriel Suswan... Terrible PDP: Martins Elechi, Ebonyi...Fair PDP: Theodore Orji, Abia... Below average APC: Aboola Ajimobi, Oyo...Average I can not categorically assess everyone due to space 3. General assesment of the presidential candidates on both sides GEJ's strong points are: His willingness to reform sectors such as the aviation, education and road. In Agriculture, he also deserves some accolades His weak points are: Security, Security and Security, others are Corruption (looks like this is synonymous with his government), prompt response to issues, tactness, and charisma GMB: General Muhammed Buhari is obviously the face of opposition in Nigeria, his Strong points are: Anti corruption stance, clean records in public service, discipline and security as a former military general His weak points?, the religion tag on him could stand against him, although he has denied this appelage severally The extremism of his followers may also count, as there's a tendency for Certain Christian groups to oppose his candidacy I can't personally assess this man in terms of infrastructure, opinions on this is welcome As 2015 approaches, the next valentine day will not just be a day for lovers to make out, it will be a day when the future and destiny of Nigeria as a nation would be determined Have you got a Permanent Voters card?, how then will you shape the future of the Lugardian enclave? ~Iyanuilesanmi@gmail.com |

Let me start my comment with a classic quote of all time, 'Buhari is perpetually unelectable' El Rufai. Op. The greatest mistake any body can make come 2015 is to vote Buhari. Quote me any where Buhari is an anatema and should never be anywhere near the corridors of power. I have said it time without number that it is only the enemies of Nigeria that will wish Buhari on us. A man who carried out coup against a democratically elected government should never be allowed to preside over us in a democracy. In other climes, Buhari would have received an outright ban from politics. Again, the mere mention of buhari reminds me of Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood. This man is a religious bigot. An unmitigated terrorist sympathizer and a confirmed human right abuser. It is only children born in the early 90s that come to Nairaland to campaign for Buhari. Come 2015, I assure Buhari that that dogs and babboons that will soak in their blood will be members of his family. While GEJ may not have performed up to the desires of the common man, But comparatively, he has done better than any Nigerian president dead or alive, military or civilian. Finally, whosoever 'God has blessed, no man can curse' See all of you in Abuja come 29/05/2015 at GEJ's swearing in ceremony. Thanks. Dereformer. 2 Likes |

The opposition APC are greedy people, looking from the way they have been causing nuisance in the country shows they are not the best. one thing they fail to understand is that whatever one sow is what he will reap.. You're trying to bring someone down by all means, someone else will bring you down when you get there... |
