This BUHARI is bereaved of intelligence. Nigeria did not borrow to fight the civil war but Nigeria gave Bakassi to Cameroon as a thank you gift because of the civil war. The money we would have been making from the oil rich Bakassi would have been enough to repay any loan obtained to prosecute the civil war. The USSR (Russia) was given the nod to build the Ajaokuta Steel complex for Nigeria because of the arms and ammunition they supplied to Nigeria during the war. The steel complex has continued to be a drain pipe till today. Billions of dollars have been spent since the 1970s to get the complex running but to no avail. So, the argument that Nigeria did not borrow to fight the civil war is hogwash, for it would have been better we borrowed.

The military is suffering from the actions of coupists like Buhari. The last time Nigerian military retooled and re-equipped was during Shagari's regime. It is said that the best time to equip the military for war is during peace time. But even as an illegal head of state with full dictatorial powers Buhari did not think of equipping the military. So, nobody should listen to him because he is part of the problem of the Nigerian military.

The Senate has approved the $1bn the execute asked for to fight Boko Haram and the loan would be repaid in seven years. Senator Ahmed Markafi explained to the Senate how the loan would be expended and the Senate approved. But Because Buhari does not want the military- which he helped to kill- equipped, he is opposing the loan. Too late. The arms will come. In fact, they have started arriving. There is nothing the tyrant can do about it. This time, the arms will be used on his supporters who would seek southern corp members to kill when he loses in 2015.
