The Supreme Court on Friday, January 17, 2014, stated that Mohammed Abacha, son of the late former Head of State, General Sani Abacha, must be arrested and returned to an Abuja High Court and face his trial over allegations of theft instituted against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Abacha is currently facing a 123-count charge leveled against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria, wherein he was alleged to be in possession of stolen property belonging to the Federal Government.
The property were allegedly stolen by his late father, Gen. Abacha, Nigeria’s former Head of State.
Abacha’s attempts to foil the trail failed at Court of Appeal before heading for the apex court.

In it’s verdict, the apex court, however, submitted that immunity does not extend beyond the tenure of office and that even if the late head of state were alive, he could have been prosecuted for a criminal offence, not to talk of his son, who has never been a State Leader” -Daily Post. 17/1/14.

Mohammed Abacha and his his father, late Sanni Abacha looted our nation’s Treasury. Their cronies had a field day. These thieves stole so much and left our country bleeding.
Some of the major banks across the world, who were honest enough called the attention of our Federal government to come and take our money back. Over half a million dollars was recovered in cash from his house when he kicked the bucket. His son, Mohammed Abacha was also accused of stealing over half a billion naira. He was arrested, detained, and when the ruling party released him and withdrew all the charges preferred against him, pundits alerted the nation that it was done for political reasons.

Today, Jonathan met with Junior Abacha, one on one. Reason? To strategize on how to win Kano State back from APC!
Junior Abacah, who emerged from the meeting, told the State House Correspondents that Kano was stolen from PDP. He said- “We are hopeful; I wouldn’t want to say too much. I said it before that it was a PDP state; it was a PDP ticket. It was taken or converted or even stolen; whatever you want to call it, so be it.

The chances of the PDP are still bright” . This is Nigeria for you. In a decent society, Junior Abaacha should be in jail forever. Now, the dude is speaking and even had the guts to talk like a political heavyweight. This is why men and women in position of power steal our nation’s wealth with reckless abandonment. They do this with this belief that any party in power will bail them out when trouble comes.


I have a lot of respect for Jonathan, but I think the President is politically naive. His advisers are doing him no good at this time when people keep telling the world the president run the most corrupt regime in our nation’s history.


Why Abacha at this time when Jonathan ought to show leadership? It was said, junior Abacha’s son was released for political reasons, so, the President did not leave anyone in doubt that Junior Abacha was released to help them win a State!


James ibori should also be released to help them win more states in Mid-Western Nigeria. Every other person standing trial, including Chimoroke, the former governor of Enugu State, should be released. Why should Mohammed Abacha walk, while these other Nigerians languished in jail. Since it is now glaring for all to see that Mohammed walked for political reasons, these other goons who stole our nation’s money should also be allowed, to walk!
