The 2015 elections are around the corner and as usual Nigerians have statrted with their sentiments. Some of this sentiments are blindly based that centres on many trivial issues without logical reasoning. This little piece takes a look at two of such trivial issues that ordinarily should not make us lose sleep, but it has formed the basis of some people’s choice of who will govern them in 2015.

First, is the issue of muslim-muslim ticket. How hypocritical can Nigerians be. A Country where many either claim to be christians or muslim but have failed to live by the rules of their religion. God almighty approved no religion on earth so i wonder where all these hatred or fuss about two people from the same religion occupying a political position is emmanating from. In a sane country, a country where its citizens are not hypocrite, no one judges you based on your religion but based on your character and antecedents which truly reflects who an individual is.

Nigerians should care more about who will bring them out of the den of poverty, misrule, corruption, and mismanagement of our common wealth rather than engross themselves with issues of meaningless meaning.

Another issue that has been with us but seems to have gained more media attention recently is the case of citizenship or what many know as ”State of Origin”. Of what gain will it be to the populace discussing where an individual is truly from when the constitution is clear about it. Sadly enough, Nigerians don’t realy know what qualifies one to be regarded as a citizen of a Nation hence, the ignorance being exhibited in this type of issue even among those who are learned in a country
That a man was born and has lived all his life in a particular locality. In a country that has given him right to live and work anywhere. Isn’t it a case of jobless gossip for some people to engage themselves in discussing whether one is a bonafide Citizen of a locality or not and even making it a criteria to occupy a given office.

How can a man be so interested in lifting the lives of the people of his locality and has gone the extra mile to make such locality proud and many still ask if he is from there. Why did he not go to his own place and develop it or you think he does not wish to so? Again, those who are regarded as bonafide citizens of such locality, have done little or noting to improve that area but have even dragged the name of such area to mud. Now tell me who truly is a real citizen of a locality?

Nigerians should grow above ethnic, and religious hypocrissy and take themselves out of the Shacles of undedevelopment.
