Fela is more recognised outside than in dark Africa. His kind of music is a genre that is being studied in music universities here by oyinbos. Africans are still in the dark as usual to recognise his ingenuities.

About the noise you could just walk into the church and explain to them what their noise is causing you. Many of them will reduce the noise. I know this cos I have done it twice once in Ado Ekiti abd once in Abuja. In both cases they listened and were sorry for the bother.
As long as you respect yourself and them when making your complain.
