Was he not rewarded in all his outings? How did he manage his income? Where are his family? What does he need, annuity? Has he won any medal for the nation? Did he pay his taxes? If the city is not what it use to be, he should go to the village. However, if you can help please do.

This is sad, but then again..who's to blame? The federal govt?? Since 1980? There are many people living in this country that have served it with their blood&sweat since the 80s but you don't see them coming to online news begging for money. Didn't say its a bad thing, but is it the govt work to provide for him&his family since the 80s cos he represented Nigeria at the olympics?

Then u wonder why today's player of Nigerian heritage don't claim Nigeria, but rather claims other countries.

Nigerian leaders have turned this land into an unforgiving place that doesn't remember what u did for country but how much unsubstantiated wealth can be flaunted and who you know.

I know another Nigerian Olympian who is struggling after having served his country, living on the streets and afraid to go back home.

Nigeria is an unforgiving nation, kids, pick somewhere else to represent.
