The United States Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry, has expressed disappointment over the postponement of the Nigeria’s general election. According to Kerry,“The United States is deeply disappointed by the decision to postpone Nigeria’s presidential election, which had been scheduled for February 14.” “Political interference with the Independent National Electoral Commission is unacceptable, and it is critical that the government do not use security concerns as a pretext for impeding the democratic process,” he stressed. Kerry said the international community “will be watching closely as the Nigerian government prepares for elections on the newly scheduled dates. The United States underscores the importance of ensuring that there are no further delays. “As I reaffirmed when I visited Lagos last month, we support a free, transparent, and credible electoral process in Nigeria and renew our calls on all candidates, their supporters, and Nigerian citizens to maintain calm and reject election-related violence,” Kerry added http://www.metronaija.com/2015/02/us-disappointed-over-shift-in-election.html |

I'm also deeply disappointed in GEJ inasmuch as I do not support his reelection, I never really expected that he'll go this far in order to cling to power. This is obviously a new low for him and his government. He promised never to interfere with the election process but he's now arm - twisted the INEC to achieve his selfish reasons. He may have sold his soul to the devil. I'm sure it's only perdition and regret that will be his reward. 1 Like |

Only insane person will expect us to conduct an election when majority of our military personnel are engaged in the northeastern part of the country. The joint military taskforce from Chad, Niger and Cameroun will be brought in to engage the boko haram fighters, then we will deploy our military to secure the elections. We are smarter than you and your co-travellers by trying to divide the military strength before the elections. |
