Adminisher:GOC ordering for tanks? Where was the COAS? Or was the CDS dead that a mere GOC will be ordering for weapons? And don' t tell me the minister for defence was on sabatical leave too. You people can only sell an unsaleable Buhari to those who do not know history. |

1LRNZH: And what key code is that Mr. Tank Commander. Are you certain of what you are saying or is this another assumption. What is the key code of the tank you have driven. There is so much unsubstantiated talk, so much misinformation taken for news out there. Every one has detailed information based on rock solid evidence that by now this insurgency should be over. But it is not. |

My concern about Boko Haram and weaponry is that if not that it has government barking, how will it be possible for it to smuggle those sophisticated huge weapons it makes use of to attack innocent people to Nigeria? |

lastpage: And see how you twist yourself. A Battalion flees (which one, when) because it hasn't the weaponry to fight. Then the insurgents capture the 'sopisticated - as many will call them' to retool themselves. What hogwash. In broad terms if the army has none what are the insurgents capturing. And I tell you here and now. It is extremely difficult and highly unlikely for an operational armoured corps tank to be taken whole without incident. If you understand the way armoured forces operate you will understand. To further think that one can be captured from a base and driven off is just wishful thinking no matter how much you lovethe insurgents and hate the army. Sorry it won't happen. |

Are you sure it was Nigerian military that captured that? Please, don't be deceived by propaganda! Most of the recent victories against Boko Haram wer performed by Niger, Chad and Camerounian armed forces, and NOT Nigerian military! 1 Like |

We thank God Almighty for the successes of our gallant troops. Some may argue that the armoury boko haram uses was captured from our barracks. It only shows that they have financiers and symphatisers in the first place. God bless Nigeria. te author=itsdumebi post=30892495]Sweet Jesus! This tank alone is enough to level a whole village! Our gallant troops captured this tank from some Boko Haram ‘vermin’ in Michika, Adamawa state recently. These terrorists are definitely funded by big wigs. http://itsdumebi.com/pic-see-big-state-of-the-art-armoured-tank-nigerian-soldiers-captured-from-boko-haram-in-michika/[/quote] |

Adminisher: See ignorance. You don't even know the structure of the army so you just talk rubbish. A GOC cannot order for tanks simple. The army is structured into corps. These are specialised parts that make it a fighting force. The teeth arms are the infantry, the armoured corps, the artillery corps, signals and the engineers. Then the 'supporting corps' medics, S/T, etc. Training, equiping, kitting, is done at corps level. You will not see a medic colonel instructing or training an infantry major. Major weapons and ammunition depots are at corps level. If you want to know where the bulk of the tank or artillery shells are kept, it is there. The bulk of army formations around the country are corps units and you know them. They are administrative units. Like in a hospital you have units. Perhaps surgery, haematology, dentistry, imaging, pharmacy, etc. These units have heads that report directly to the CMD. In the army the Corps Directors have a direct route to the COAS. Then you have the operational structure of the army which is divided into 5 divisions now (I think)。It is these divisions that go to war. The corps come together in times of conflict under this structure to prosecute operations because each corps cannot stand alone effectively. Once again, like in a hospital when a case comes in the Emrgency unit puts a call out to the 'team of specialists' to handle the case. It is not the resposibility of emergency to order for scanners or dental tools but the dental department's. Similarly it is not the job of the GOC to order tanks or cotton wool and bandages but to place a demand for the use of tanks and the need for updated medics on the armoured divisions at his disposal. His job is to prosecute war. |

No research and engineering dept,we rely on old weapons and that matters to them is just stock piling their account with billions..i wonder who will spend all this money after death... Lets get rid of this menace once and for all Nigeria |
