I see nothing wrong in him asking.
with the idea got here, he can know what to expect even if he wans a Q.S to give him a quotation.
There are many of us who don't really have an idea of the total cost of building a house.
abi o... With all said here, one can peg foundation for bungalow at 1million naira.

It depends on d plan no blanket cost, also d area cos of different rates and d nature of d soil, d cost to build a house in Daura in katsina is different from ogbia in Bayelsa, and it depends on d client taste, a strip foundation which is d conventional type of foundation is cheaper dan using raft foundation have seen raft foundation for small buildings, am working on a drawing where d concrete in d foundation gulps about 300mula, let me know ur taste and I will advise u appropriately, am a Q S]

density of sharp sand = 1600kg/m3
since to convert to tonne, 1tonne = 1000kg

density of gravel = 2400kg/m3

density of cement = 1506kg/m3

1600/1000 = 1.6tonnes/m3

2400/1000 = 2.4tonnes/m3

Bro in as much as I repect peoples opinion, all the estimation giving to you are just rough estimation.1,before any estimatoin u have to know the total area of the structure.2,which state or area do you intend to errect the structure, materials varies with each state eg,30 tones of chipping in ph city cost #280k,am sure it can never be the same with lag,so all this have to be put into consideration first.

it actually cost between #180 to # 220k in port harcourt.

I make assumptions based in some set parameters. it is easier to make assumption base on a bungalow not matter the.site conditions ( except for a swampy area).

All estimate here are provisional amounts

Its not that a quantity surveyor can't be on nairaland, its just that we don't work with descriptions alone. We work with architectural plans from the architect as well as the plans fron structural engineers.... You can't expect anyone to come up wif a possible cost without even knowing the construction location. Doing this involve just two things. Its either you over estimate or under estimate...
