It was now a battle of the best golfers as Jimmy was slugging it out with Mayor while Chief Olukolade and Daniel watched as the two men play.
"I am confident of Mayor's ability in the game as I have played against him on a number of occassions, but I think Jimmy would win in the end, he does the long flick more often and his vision when swinging is grade A. He could stand up to Tom Els or Tiger Wood." Chief Olukolade said to a half listening Daniel whose mind was solely on how to get to talk to his son and if possible take him home that night.
"Your mind seemed far away son. Is anything the matter?" Chief noticing his son-in-law's drawn face asked.
"Nothing. I really hope the Mayor of a guy wins. Jimmy brags a lot and his wings need to be clipped or ripped off if possible." He replied.
"Ah ah! I know that look." His father in law laughed. "Something is bothering you and it is bigger and much more important than the two men on the turf. So talk to me."
"Nothing really. Its just the stress." Daniel replied.
"Come with me." Chief Olukolade placed a hand over his son-in-law's shoulder and off they walked away.
"You could take the rest of the week off from office. Just stay at home. The company needs you at your best."
"I don't think that's a good idea. Am just going through some hard times. A weekend out like this will make things better." Daniel objected.
"I understand you. You think the company will suffer in your absence? No, we can manage and once you are back, we return to how we were. Just take the week off, you need it." The tone of finality was evident in his voice. "The next time I am expecting you in office should be the start of next month." And with this, Chief Olukolade walked away leaving Daniel stunned. Such was the influence and control the Olukolades have over him.
"I hope thing would change one day." He thought as he returned to where the others were, this time outside the pitch along the stands, with one sole aim, talking to his son.

"Hey." He said to Chris who was engrossed in watching the duo of Jimmy and Mayor play.
He turned reluctantly to see his role model in the business world standing next to him. Even though he had seen Daniel Martin earlier in the evening, the level of closeness between them now made him want to scream in ecstacy, but he was kept in check.
"Good evening sir." He replied.
"I am Daniel Martin." Daniel said.
"I know." Chris said indifferently.
"You know?" Daniel asked himself in shock. The only time he got a similar response was when he visited the state governor who wasn't impressed about who he was or what he does. But for a thirteen year old boy to be indifferent about meeting the Managing Director of the largest business empire in West Africa built more fear in him, because, one of the leverages he(Daniel) wished to use his wealth. With the hope of capturing Christopher's heart with his money, but right now as it stands, his money would be a lot useless in this case.
"How did you know I am Daniel Martin."
"Who doesn't know you? You manage the largest business in West Africa." Chris replied.
Daniel smiled. Afterall, the boy acknowledged his position and popularity.
Taking a close dare at wanting to know how he(Christopher) felt as meeting him, he asked. "How do you feel meeting me?"
"I am happy to have met you in person, but I am indifferent about it, afterall, we meet people everyday and you are one of those I am meeting today." Chris replied.
"Who taught you this?" Daniel asked.
"My mum." Chris replied.
"Christina James?" Daniel asked.
Chris turned his attention to the man beside him.
"You know her?" He asked.
"Baby, lets go for a walk." Adeola announced from where she sat.
Daniel weighed his options. If he decided to go on a walk with his wife, he might not get the chance to talk to Chris anymore, meaning, the boy won't know who his father was. If he decides to defy his wife so as to talk to his son, his mother-in-law was somewhere behind them and that could arouse suspicion as it is unheard of. Denying your wife her right in a bid to talk to an unknown little boy.
Going for the former seemed the best idea. He stood up calmly and took Adeola's hand in his.
"Come with us." He said to Chris.

The story is getting more interesting.
But I have some observations.
You rushed some parts (maid part). You could have dedicated a whole update to that. Give a detailed description on it.
The errors are kind of increasing. Maybe you don't proof read again. Try to do so.

All is well ma'am. I suspended the updates here to enable me concentrate on finishing The Thomas. And, thank God, I have. Will start updating tomorrow by Jah's grace.
